Base raping is still there, you just can't get in. Bottomline is, if you do it right, they can't leave.
Hell, brother, that's just
tactics and
teamwork.

My bitch is the stationary AA. Those Zeus/Phalanx should be able to claw down every rotary wing in there and yet they don't.
You can do it, but it seems those things have all the impact of a Ruger 10/22. Even when you use them against infantry it takes work to kill a guy on foot.
I don't know why, but the whole
Battlefield series - all the way back to
Vietnam - seems heavily weighted in favor of air.
I haven't played the whole BF series, but so far in BF3 I've had very problems with people in the air. Helo's usually get slapped down in a hurry and are rarely around to make a difference in the outcome.

And now for the good news. Compared to MW3 BF3 is gold.

Yet when I was in EB games today looking for Xmas presents I was talking to the clerk about it and he said as soon as MW3 arrived the kiddies all came in and traded in their BF3's for that game.
So as Martha would say. "That's a good thing" since it means quite a few of the little hackers, spawn campers and point whores all moved over to MW3 to continue their aimbot campaign on their servers.
BF3 is now a much nicer place to play again, like BF2 was till they came back which after seeing the user scores is likely to happen as soon as the trolls get enough money to trade back for BF3

Right up until you get a team where half the players sniper camp making it impossible for others to play when outside a vehicle.

I haven't really run into that and given the fact that you can still spawn at your base camp or on your squad mates it's still better than going to one spawn place over and over and over again like some of it's opponents..

I've not run into this. It's allot harder for snipers to stay hidden now, what with the death cam, scope glinting and mortars.
Here's some awesome footage from Germany with regards to the Karkand and Oman maps due out next month:

You forgot to mention the IRNV scope.

They can put that thing on a Heavy Machine Gun which is already way to accurate for reality and blow you out of your socks.

I have seen silencers on those things.
^ Figured you guys would like this.
You realize all of the hardcore gamers out there now have to change their underwear

Nah, most of them are too out of shape to worry about it.
they'll all be snipers.
I'm enjoying the game throughly. I'm up to 1st star Sargeant in ranks (I don't play as often as some), and have found some of the unlockable weapons and accessories quite useful. It seems that a lot of spawn-killing a$$holes from the first few weeks of the game have left, providing a better experience.
My only qualm is how difficult the controls for the aircraft are. In previous Battlefield games, I picked up the controls within a week. Almost a month later, I'm still slamming into the ground, or plowing into things trying to fly.

I'm the same way.
I used to be killer in a chopper, but steering these bastards is an art. I've always been more of a tank guy, but the choppers are fun.
As much as I like rumbling across the map in a tank, I've always been more of an air-support kind of guy. In BF1943, if times got tough on our team, I'd hop into an airplane and start the bombing runs to take the heat off the ground troops.
If I can figure out a way to fly the chopper without plowing into something, it just might work. Until then, I'm on foot rushing the enemy position.

I've heard that using a mouse an keyboard for flying is more difficult then in BF3. I use the Saitek X52 Pro when I do fly. The only thing I don't like is that you have not decent air to air weapons until the 2nd unlock and no air defense until the 1st.
