Quebec starts the new year with more than 17,000 new COVID-19 cases

All these months and three jabs later I end up testing positive on the last day of the year.

   

Oh crap rickc. Are your symptoms mild at least?

   

Yeah to tell the truth I felt a lot worse getting the last two shots than I do now. I missed a day of work after getting the second dose so I made sure to get my booster on my friday. I would have missed a day of work after the booster if I did not schedule it right. They don't tell you what variant that you have. I don't know if I have Omicron and its a weaker version, or if my immune system is really in high gear after getting the booster last month. I just don't want my pets to get it. They have no immunity for it. They want attention but I need to keep them away from me. They don't understand, and the mask is freaking them out.

   

Well, take it easy and hopefully you will recover soon.

They finally have started getting the booster notifications out here and my partner, who is 67, just got his go ahead to book for his booster almost exactly 6 months since his 2nd shot. It will be at least another week or two before I get mine.

   

I still have no plans to get the booster. Wasn't interested when it was announced, still not interested now. If other people like it, power to you. Me? Nah.

Why wouldn't you want the best protection that you could get? I mean you have made it this far through all the shutdowns, restrictions, and cancellations. Why risk catching it and dying now? That would be like surviving several major campaigns of a war only to die in transport on the way home. Play it safe.

   

I got the first two shots, which were supposed to be the 'best protection'. Fully vaccinated people can contract the virus regardless. I'm not interested in the booster because I don't think it will be as effective as they say, a la the first two.

How many 'boosters' are they going to come with before some good comes of it? I believe in my own antibodies first and foremost, and I'm okay with the protection I already have. Also, I had to take time off work for one of the two shots, something I can't afford to do for the foreseeable future.

Not at all. I simply think I will be all right on my own. I believe in my own immune system, which has improved drastically since I stopped having chronic bronchitis. I don't get sick at the drop of a hat these days, and I'm glad.
