It would seem 2013 is a season for multiple goals being scored in quick succession,

The Canucks gave up 3 goals in 2:27 or 4 in 7:37 in the 1st period on their way to a 4-0 defeat in Edmonton on 30 Mar.

The Redwings gave up 3 goals in 99 seconds in the 1st period and 2 goals in 8 seconds in the 2nd on their way to a 7-1 loss to Chicago on 31 Mar.

The Flyers today gave up 3 goals in 2:06 or 4 in 6:28 in the 2nd period to be down 4-1 to the Jets starting the 3rd period in Winnipeg.

Just to support anything that causes the Flames to lose more games and inch ever closer to that first-overall draft pick, something that we've never had before, I hope that the Cafucks (and everyone else as this season comes to an end) clobber the shit out of the Flames tonight.

Our season's lost, and the too-long delayed rebuild's finally begun, so might as well be long-term strategic about it and hope for the worst that'll eventually lead to the best.

Calgary at Edmonton

Or....#28 in the NHL visits #23.....

Should be an interesting game, hope the comments here don't get too carried away, that is if anyone here still shows some interest in either team!

Did anyone else notice that Toronto won a game this year? As a matter of fact they might just make the Playoffs this season. Well, it's good for Lafs fans to have their team make the playoffs every 46 years or so.....

Strangely enough they are right now in 7th place, one point behind the Canucks in 6th place with nearly identical stats. I don't know how to take that, either Vancouver really sucks this year or Toronto is doing something exceptional....for Toronto!

The Laffs actually have a chance to make the playoffs for the first time since 2004.... 8O 8O

1-0 Toronto in the 2nd. The Jets earned a point in their SO loss to the Islanders earlier today, so even if the Laffs win, they still aren't guaranteed a playoff spot yet.

Hyack @ Sat Apr 20, 2013 6:58 pm

Okay, so the story has changed from:

$1:
If the Jets lose in regulation to the New York Islanders, the Leafs will be able to clinch a playoff berth with a win over the Senators.

to:

$1:
The Toronto Maple Leafs can clinch a playoff berth if they defeat Ottawa in regulation or overtime and the New York Islanders defeat Winnipeg in any fashion.

So for the first time in 9 years the Laffs have made the playoffs.....

Well it was a shortened season.

Wait til next year when they have to play a full schedule and suffer their usual collapse.

You know, after watching the Islanders play the Lafs and the Jets last week, that could very well be the dark horse in the east. The Islanders have been in the cellar for so many years that no one really expects much. It looks as though they're going to make the playoffs and could very well have a deep run.

Habs vs Senators
Well, it's not like Habs vs Leafs, but it will get the job done!
Go Habs in 6!

martin14 @ Mon Apr 29, 2013 10:10 am

Yup, Habs in 6.

Bruins in 5.

Pens in 4.

Rangers in 7, this should be the series to watch.

Alta_redneck @ Tue Apr 30, 2013 10:33 pm

8O Ron Macallan looked embarrassed tonight when he had to admit The Mother Corp. didn't pick up the Canucks / Sharks series. 8O

Oh well I don't mind TSN.

Good luck to everybody's teams, and if it ever quits snowing here, us Alberta fans might get out and hit a few balls.

Holy crap....Anaheim comes back from being down 4-1 to tie it with just over 2 minutes to go.
