and your point is?
The economic liberalization and international trade, and globalization.
We are loosing our middle class, hwacker.

Stop importing crap from places else where and diluting the base we have. If you bring in people that are use to having 2 dollars a day wage, 45 a day here sounds like heaven. What would you expect when you import low skilled workers from Asia?
That's liberalization hwacker.

Bart... Brenda... A friend of mine schooled himself as a butcher and had an excellent education. He was even promised work but it all turned to shit any way! Why? Becaus a polack got the job. Why? Cheaper labour. Now, he doesn't have the will nor the mental strength to re-educate himself and get a more well paid job. As long as there's enough cheap labour to go around, they don't give a shit about your education.
Welcome to the EU OPP!

Don't tell me education is the answer to everything. It's a lie and a clever way to put the blame of societies failures on the poor and misfortuned.
Sure OPP, you are so right...

I don't say education is the answer to everything, but it will make your life a hell of a lot easier, if you know more than one thing, or more than nothing.
The government is not responsable for lazy people, nor for people who lack a backbone. You tell me not to speak for/about myself, but you refer to a friend as the truth. He should kick himself in the butt, get his ass in school and re-educate himself. Perhaps find another boss, or maybe start a company of his own?
Why is society responsable for him? Why do we need to pay his EI, because some Polish guy got his job? Geesh, welcome to real life, it happens everyday.

No thats the shit you do in your country, you guys are done already. Canada still has hope if we keep the Liberals away from the cookie jar.

Now your starting to piss me off. Of fucking course it is better to educate yourself! I'm not arguing that!
But it won't guarantee a well paid job! It's not a guarantee for anything! Your ingenious plan for everyone to get a better life for themself is to "get a better education". How many well paid jobs do you think there are? If everyones their own boss, NO ONE IS! YOU NEED WORKERS!!!!

Your such a heartless bitch.
I might be naive in your world but in mine, people who work three jobs for minimum wage and still can't pay the rent are not lazy!

That's why we live in a society! So that no one will have to fend for themselfs!
Yeah.. welcome to real life, allrigth... If you're better off than most, then why should you care, right.
FUCK YOU Brenda.

hahahahahaha, you lost my respect here OPP! You have no idea what my life is like. How do you know I'm better off then most? Am I?
I just share my thoughts, not my life...
I love you too, sweety

Might be? no you are.
If you gotta work 3 jobs you are either stupid or ugly, or a combination of both.
Before you flame, do a little research you’ll find answers that will amaze.

It's not the importation of labor, it's the export of jobs.
The manufacturing base (union jobs) are being shipped overseas. So what do you think is going to happen to a country when your $28 to $32 an hour job is being sent to Asia and call centers are being open at $11 per hour to replace that job.
Our economy is being slowly disassembled by CEO's and Corporate America.
Just like the Kyoto Protocol, Free Trade is nothing but a distribution of Canada's wealth overseas.
Canada's population is to small to support Asia, EU and the USA. Protectionism for Canada's economy is essential.
union jobs are going in the toilet because of the unions.

That's a gross exaggeration.
The proportion of those who are defined as middle class has declined by something like 2-3% over the past 25 years, and the vast majority of Canadians are middle class.
That's hardly "losing" the middle class.

And a friend of mine who never finished high school is a multi-millionaire. So can we conclude, based on my one single example, that quitting high school is a good idea?
You cannot take single examples and use it as a broad representation of a population.
Lots of interesting posts and some are well something.
I think the key to bettering oneself starts with his or herself. The choices you make in life usually are what effects it the most. So instead of maybe studying for that big English exam you were out drinking that will have an effect or if you decided to quit school or skip classes or maybe you found a job that doesn’t really pay a whole lot and just stuck with it. Not everyone is equal and some will have to work harder to achieve a greater status for themselves than others. But some will better themselves and others will not so why punish those who went the extra mile?
I don’t earn a lot of money but for just myself it is a fair amount to live on. I have friends who earn twice as much as me but have less money than I do since I already have investments and have started building my own little nest egg. But I also don’t go to the pub every week and get drunk or spend a few bucks on some pumped up stereo for my car. I don’t even have car.
So yes even having an education doesn’t guarantee anything and you could easily throw your money away or some even end up in gutter with one due to drugs or other things. It usually helps though and those who take another step forward stand out from the rest of the crowd.
Anyway Id say making the right choices can help you not be poor or in poverty. Your life is in your hands and it is no ones job but your own to decide what you do with it or not. Survival of the fittest and those who do not survive or adapt usually perish.

I'm not sure where you're getting at?
If there were fewer licensing requirements for jobs people could get less education for that job and would be able to work sooner with less investment as people wouldn't have over education.
In Britain, there were just 3 billionaires in 1997.
Now, just 10 years later, there are 68.

Inflation could have played a role, of course in the new Europe London is becoming the equivalent to New York and attracting rich business from across the content.
