CHRC: it's OK to say gays should be "beheaded"

Why don't they fall under the Geneva Convention, and why not under US law?
GC aplies to soldiers in in uniform. They were dressed as civilians.
not sure about US law, tbh.
German spies were executed during WWII under law, who were on sabotage missions against the power grid and targets. No uniforms.

and no GC either.
I agree, we should shoot all the shits in Guantanamo
as spies, no more problems.
It was a mistake to bring them there, they should have been shot
as spies on the battlefied, summary execution.
Our tolerance and wilingness to bend over backwards
to protect everyones 'rights' will be our undoing in the end.

Soldiers tend not to be into battlefield executions in violation of Military Law.
Three things separate western forces and the third world combatants our nation fights against, honour, force of legal and moral authority, and superior training.

When the lack of evidence of wrongdoing amongst that group is so scant, this is a stupid action to take.
what more evidence would you like besides them holding a gun ?
not enough ?

Wait, let me get this straight. Hundreds of muslims protest the current wars, call for the deaths of the infidels aka everybody non-muslim. Express hate toward jews, christians, catholics, etc. Call for the be-heading and death of westerners.
Yet when a couple of Canadian's on the internet express detest for these actions, or over-all hate for them. They either get fined or locked up?
Yet the people who protest this just get observed without action, then print book's that is 100% ignorance and hate and the CHRC say's it's ok?
CHRC is really fubar.
The taliban is not recognized as a military or paramilitary organization. The Taliban had no central government and no legal system... they were not recognize by any country or the UN. The Geneva Convention only applies to those countries which have radified and signed it. The American's didn't bring them to the U.S. for trial because the U.S. court system didn't have jurisdiction over them, so, you're only left with the military court system and I'm not sure but I don't think the military has the same rules about a speed trial from non U.S. citizens. This is pretty much uncharted territory.
The shark idea is sounding pretty good though...
I think these prisoners are being kept for such a a long time because they don't have an Iggy who will torture the information out of them, they want that information and they don't have the political guts to kill them.
Considering their alternative fate was a quick trial and a dirt nap, being housed and fed isn't really all that bad.
Hey CHRC...
If it's okay to say that gays should be beheaded, does that mean I can tell the Jews to fuck off and that the Holocaust wasn't real?
And if that is indeed the case, why'd we deport that Ernst Zundel guy? Wasn't he just practicing this free speech you're talking about?
Don't you realize that some groups are more equal to others....especially if they declare a fatwa on you for not siding with their brand of intolerance.

I think it just goes to show that the Human Rights Commissions subscribe to the Animal Farm theory of equality. Some are more equal than others.
I don't agree with Human Rights Commissions. But if what that Imam wrote isn't hateful and a violation of the Human Rights Code, I don't know what is.
They've obviously become nothing more than a vehicle for politically correct agenda pushing.
Time to do away with them. Or at the very least, severely curtail their powers.
Has anyone here actually taken up the book and read it?

No, but you can do so here if you read French and have some time.
http://pointdebasculecanada.ca/IMG/pdf/ ... ition_.pdfThat said, the story initially appeared in Le Devoir, a major Montreal daily paper with solid journalistic credentials. They excerpted and printed the controversial comments, so there's no reason to believe they aren't accurate.
Why are you affirming their 'journalistic credentials'?
You can't come to a reasonable conclusion of the CHRC's ruling without even having read the provocative material in question. If anything, this is just an excuse to lambast them, for whatever other reasons one might have.
