I used to work in Social Security (now Benefits Agency) in the UK and I can assure you that the vast majority of people claiming "sickness benefits" and "invalidity benefits" were able to work, no question. IB was increased the longer you had sick lines from a doctor, hence the reason people claimed that rather than unemployment benefit. Also you should have seen the fraud that went on, unbelievable and the people working while claiming these benefits.
Kind of riles me because I have worked for 30 years and have not had one single penny from either the UK government or the Canadian government.
