herbie herbie:
My Mom's funeral was in Burnaby Friday. Then we had to go back to my sister's in Abbotsford. It took TWO HOURS to do that on the freeway Friday afternoon. TWO HOURS.

Sunday night it took two hours to go from Prince George airport, drop off my kid and grab burgers in PG and drive all the way to Fort St James. 175 kms or so.

My condolences Herbie.

Xort Xort:
Have they found a way to make the (buses) not stink like vomit and piss?

After they've spent so much money on homeless people and drug addicts who work so hard to get the buses to smell that way in the first place? Seriously, all you need to do is to stop calling it by the divisive name of 'stink' and start calling it something more inclusive and tolerant like ambience.

Don't worry, the new Port Mann bridge will be open soon, and then it will be clear sailing. We have the infrastructure, we can just keep taking all the immigrants that want to come here.

I'm so sorry Herbie. My thoughts are with you and yours...

Thx everyone.
But my concern is the new bridge will simply stop people going across and plug up elsewhere. Plus I'm incensed at the fact there will be a toll on the Trans-Canada highway. That's counter to the whole idea of a national highway.
Tack on the usual, they'll dig it all up and screw the flow again, and no one will ever think of widening roads where they're long straight flat stretches and can be done for less.
I'm upcountry, they only blast chunks out of mountain and then it's back to 50 kms of straight flat 2 lane roads, too busy to pass anyone.
And truck drivers are all assholes now. Screw you driving for 20 kms in the left lane, not passing anyone and speeding up when anyone tries to pass you. And the dip on the motorbike in the HOV lane going 80. Yeah that was me crowding your ass all the way from the Port Mann, enjoying the fact your stubborn factor outweighed your asshole was leaking out of fear
I used to be a courier down there, now I hate driving anywhere except Beyond Hope.

BC Ferries makes sure it's not a 'national' highway anymore.

Just what we need, more cars jamming up the place. Thank God city council sees it differently.
