There is a sane tension in the new Canada between the majority rule and fundamental rights.
The thing to remember is that for every action there is a reaction, so in a couple of generations I can see the pendulum swinging back to the old Canada, but with luck it might stop half way and be a balanced society that actually reflects the ideals of all the citizens instead of just the squeaky wheel gets the grease crowd.

The Old Canada convinced my Dad his kids should speak English period.
The Old Canada didn't even have it's own flag. I was there, how lame was that to discover your flag wasn't even yours?
The Old Canada mocked your last name, your sex, your religion if you weren't Church of England.
The Old Canada is Bruce Allen and the Legion whining that you shouldn't be allowed to sing O Canada in anything but English, with a lip service oh I guess French too, sigh!
The Old Canada fought alongside the Ghurkas then whined that they shouldn't let RCMP with turbans.
This country 'grew up' same time I did. Stop whining and keep it growing.

Ho-hum, David Warren spouts off his ignorant opinion once again. He complains through the entire article that "human rights does not mean what it once did", and yet fails to supply that definition throughout the entire article. Instead, he turns it into a banal "right vs left" issue and then pats himself on the back for it.
Why does this guy get paid to write for a newspaper? A trained monkey could do a better job.

Accomodating to what? Selfish, crotchety old bastards? Fuck'em. If they don't like people other than white men having rights, they can move to Uzbekistan.

Those "old bastards" signed up to fight for this country, something you and your useless "so_called" Canadians would never do.
How disgusting the people of this "New Canada" have become.
I guess when your family never had to sacrifice anything for “Canada” you take it for granted.
So, um, how about that just Canada. Its pretty nice. I like its trees and stuff.

Why the hell do you care? You don't care about anything but yourself. Go away, troll.
For the record, my grandfather drove supply trucks all over Africa and Europe during the second world war, and he was not a crotchety old bastard that didn't care about other people. He would be ashamed to hear someone like you trample on what he had to live through just because you insist on being hateful, ignorant scum.

The human right for McDonald's employees not to wash their handsBy Ezra Levant on April 15, 2008 4:09 PM Don't eat at McDonald's on South West Marine Drive in Vancouver.
Listen. I love McDonald's, both for their food and for what they stand for philosophically. I thought that Super Size Me was a piece of anti-capitalist, anti-beef propaganda.
But when you're in Vancouver, skip the McDonald's on Marine Drive.
That's because the British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal has ruled that one of the employees there has a human right not to wash her hands when working in their kitchen.
Beena Datt claimed that she developed a "skin condition" that meant she couldn't wash her hands in compliance with McDonald's hygiene policy. That's the same hygiene policy that makes McDonald's like an embassy to Canadians travelling overseas -- when you're in a Third World country, and tired of eating in hygiene-challenged local restaurants, you can count on a western standard of cleanliness and quality at McDonald's.
http://ezralevant.com/2008/04/the-human-right-for-mcdonalds.html This is f****** idiotic
romanP @ Sun Jul 06, 2008 5:54 am
Sure it is. So is the author of the article, and the person that posted it, and so is eating or working at McDonald's.
The person who can't wash her hands could wear latex gloves instead. I don't see what the problem with this ruling is.
As for the damages, I do not think she should get $23,000 for "lost income." That essentially means she didn't find another crappy job for over a year, because you won't make that much in a year working at McDonald's.

Well my grandfathers and their brothers actually pick up a gun a fought for Canada in WWI, all my uncles and my father fought for Canada in WWII.
We lost 1 family member in each war, that’s sacrifice buddy not this shit you post about.
And for the record they cared about Canadians and the allies, everybody else was on the other side dick, that’s what they called war back when Canada was Canada.
