The only reason we're talking about wait times on a high speed rail thread is because YOUR claim was that wait times are worse under Liberals than Conservatives which is just flat out wrong. The FACT is that wait times got worse under Conservatives and better under Liberals.

So you can try to claim this small victory on a technical point as to whether Harris was the absolute worst in Canada or just worse than the McGuinty/Wynne Liberals...I don't mind, you still lose the larger argument. Hey maybe Harris was just the worst for a particular procedure - I know I read the story in the newspaper at the time but can't find it now. Point is, wait times are better, not worse under Liberals.

As for Harper providing extra cash for the provinces' wait time agendas (not just Ontario's), good for him. He came to an agreement with the provinces, that's what Feds do from time to time But it's a long shot to say that he deserves the credit just because he made a small cash donation.

You're not a man of character. That's too bad.

You have provided zero facts to back up your claim above or anything before. Which is bad for two reasons. Because either:

1. You can't read.
2. You're a liar.

Sadly, what everyone has said here about you is true. You are a partisan Liberal and a blind one at that and a man that can't just step back, admit he was wrong and move forward.

I got confused there, wondering if we were talking about wait times for trains.

Canada's health care system is pretty good overall, but I think a mixed public and private system is inevitable in the future.

Not by your graph. Wait times peaked under McGuinty in 2005. In 2016 we're told by your updated source they were pretty much at the same level as that peak. Unless you're proposing a big dip in wait times over the last few months you're incorrect.

Which chart is that?

N_Fiddledog @ Fri May 26, 2017 10:49 am

You were using a Fraser Institute chart. It only went to 2009. But the same organization updated and that data said the wait times continued to rise under Kathy to reach the peak it was at under McGuinty.

So the lie you're telling is one of implication that the wait times only rose under Conservatives. They rose slightly from the days of the NDP under the Conservatives then they continued to rise under the Liberals to the point that they now appear to share the McGuinty wait time peak.

Also you claimed "wait times have improved from worst in the country under the Conservatives," not only is that not true, it's outrageously not true.

So when you now say "The FACT is that wait times got worse under Conservatives and better under Liberals," to insinuate that was really all your claim was about, well...that's kind of a lie, isn't it? Because that's not what you were actually claiming. You were claiming liberals good - conservatives bad, cause wait times. That's not what the figures actually show. Is it?

Coach is saying wait times suck under Liberals. They do. They suck across the country though, under everybody. But there is no data driven evidence to suggest Liberals have the secret to making wait times reasonable again. They still suck under Kathy, just as they did under McGuinty.

Ok so you understand that you don't just get elected then snap your fingers and everything is instantly fixed overnight right? Liberals were elected in October 2003, the wait time strategy was developed and launched November 2004 and then of course it takes time to improve results, hence the improvement after 2005. They have been improving since that time.

Yes and you told us about this graph which you appear to believe is some sort of Mic drop.

But it's not. Is it? Because we notice it only gives us the data up to 2009. If we could see the line after that it would rise again, wouldn't it? The updated data shows wait times increased to match the 2005 peak. It was 15.6 in 2016:

which you'll notice is no longer some great brag in reference to say Manitoba or even BC of 2009.

It's about Liberal Derangement Syndrome. Apparently.

I was kind of enjoying a discussion on something less partisan in nature. :(

My personal favorites:

1. My two stainless steel Detonics 1911 .45 pistols with a double-Alessi shoulder holster that permits concealment and a very fast deployment.

2. My 1911 compact Star .45, it's compact and sweet in close quarters. Easy to conceal.

3. The 1938 Krieghoff Luger 9mm I inherited from my father-in-law. It's an oddball Naval variant in stainless steel (serial #747) with matching numbers on both magazines and on the excessively large holster. It's amazing that he found such a thing with all of the kit it was issued with.

I've fired about ~250 rounds through it and it's ridiculous in how smooth it is with a minimal recoil.

It's not my favorite because it's not a .45 but it's right up there.

It's been 14 years, Beaver. If you don't think 14 years and the health premium are enough to improve the system, you have very low standards for performance.

As per the links YOU shared, current wait times are ~15.6 weeks in Ontario. They are no better than they were in 2005 and worse since they took office in 2003.

In one post, you comment about someone making childish comments and then you use one yourself. Perhaps you should practice what you preach?

Commenting on the obvious failures of a government, and this government has many, is just something objective people with common sense do.
