She lost. Sanity prevailed. This time.

She didn't lose...at least not yet. The appeals court established guidelines in a split 4-2-1 decision on when a niqalb is acceptable in court, and when it can be ordered removed. They sent her case back to the original trial judge to apply those guidelines to make a determination in her case.

What's wrong with wearing a hat in a restaurant? I wear mine at home as well when I eat. Whether it's at a soda shop, fast food restaurant or even an upscale restaurant, the hat stays on. I do not recall ever coming across any rules regarding hats in restaurants. I have seen the "no shoes, no shirt, no service" rule on numerous occassion, but never any hat related rules. The only time I remove my hat is once a week on Sundays to attend church.

Then that makes you a rude, inconsiderate punk and if I were in the restaurant where you were wearing your hat, either you'd be removing it or I'd be removing it for you.

I worked at a mid-scale restaurant for a couple of years. We had a no hat policy, especially ball caps. I on a couple of occasions had asked men to remove their hats. They did so without question, thier reaction was embarassment, and shock that staff would even ask. If they didn't we refuse to serve and asked them to leave. From my time there I never heard of anyone putting up a fuss about it. It was fun being a bartender in my early twenties. Good times.

As far as the niqab issue goes it looks like the SC weaseled out and left it up to judges, I don't agree there should be no exceptions. No niqab.

Lemmy why is a head covering so wrong while eating?
Can you explain why, with something like a logical reason?

Further why does someone else having something on their head upset you so much you would enage in criminal activity to stop them?

Nope, there's no logical reason that I'm aware of. There's all sorts of gentlemanly behaviour that's not rooted terribly well in logic. Why not just say "Hey, grandma, gimmie a fuckin' cookie, bitch!" You double-dip, don't you?

Well said. [B-o]

So because it's not logical, social misfits like xort and Jughead can continue to show their ignorance and bad manners.

The word "gentleman" is lost on some people.

The RCL has a no hat policy and it's enforced.

CA glue sales are up providing a means for these assholes to seat their ball caps.

Good point. If you come into my Legion and forget to take your hat off, you're expected buy a round. The old boys enforce it pretty good down there. You don't find many punks tough enough to say "fuck you" to 80-somethings who chased down Nazis.

I still say that wearing a hat indoors including restaurants is perfectly fine. I see it all the time, whether it be a yarmulke or a baseball cap. Whether it's religious in nature or simply a fashion statement, nothing wrong with wearing one. I've eaten at upscale places like Red Lobster, and The Outback with no issues regarding my cap. Many of these rapper kids wear baseball caps all the time indoors. Nothing worng with that. Same with the yarmulke.

I am being serious when I say that this is the first time I hear any issues with wearing a hat indoors.

Well now that you've heard it, you can modify your behaviour and join the world of gentlemen. Or you can continue to be a rude punk. This is a "teachable moment" for you.

The back of my head is smarting listening to him speak about his etiquette.

Isn't Red Lobster fast sea-food? :?

Lemmy @ Fri Dec 21, 2012 7:39 am

We call it "Kentucky Fried Crab".

I was last time I checked, I have always found that greasy spoons and fast food joints attract patrons that wear hats while eating.

Maybe Bad Food = Bad Manners

Generally you don't see truckers, hockey and NASCAR fans and punk wannabe gang bangers at the Savoy...

When did it become acceptable to wear a hat when eating anywhere?
