WTF is wrong with Canada?
While the public could be somewhat more responsive to the situation, I'm pretty sure we all know that the bastard will rot in Hell.

Maybe for some of you it's more like an Agatha Christie suspense murder mystery . Who knows it could all be an RCMP Provincial Gov. contract with Pickton to rid the streets of prostitutes . Surely there are many others involved other than Pickton that is more likely than not . Enjoy the trial . Media commentary spends so much time on promoting death and destruction its without wonder why people not necessarily don't care but are overwhelmed . Iraq and Afghan war can easily over shadow something like this .

Are you an advocate of capital punishment?
You know I am. I am also in favour of everyone in the capital being punished.
I rest Banff's case.

But this is not about that, this is about what I perceive as a serious crime taking place but a comparatively complete lack of interest un it by the public. Though I personally believe people should be more interested this is not about whether it is right or wrong, only why people are not more interested?
No, it's about your fixation with capital punishment. That's really all there is to it. You're jealous that he got his snuff porn but you won't get yours.
I'll tell you something assowl, I take the deaths of these native girls pretty seriously so show these victims a little more respect. That people who are marginalised in society can be ignored in death should shame us as a people.

That's an unusual support for the underdog GFPB , I respect it , but not something which is common to hear you admit .
I don't know why I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt, but define "government sanctioned snuff porn".
Dbl post.
They just had opening statements and now their starting to jocky about, and that's hard and boring for the media to cover. Our BC media is still covering it and I'm sure it will flair up again if something jucy shows up.
My bet is the massive ammounts of gory details will bring out the US media and that spotlight will jumpstart the rest of canada.
The Eastern media, along with many members here don't view BC, expecially Vancouver as a real place, as mythical as LA or Hollywood. A mass murderer is trivial when some local lazy gits blocade a street. It's pure selfishness, and taht's the lable of most of the east. (:-))

Death sentence carried out on national television. You know it's what you want.
You're an idiot.
You're definately right that this was a class issue, not a race issue. These women were addicts who turned to prostitution out of desperation, not a persecuted minority.
This case also had huge ties with drugs, motorcycle gangs, and very well known party place called "Piggy's Palace". I'd suspect that many people knew that something was happening but didn't do anything because they weren't affected or they lacked proof. I personally hope these people never sleep again because of guilt.
As long as Justice is served, I don't really care to have 24/7 analysis of the Trial. The Courts and Jury decides the Guilt/Innocence, not Public Opinion.

sandorski says: Stop public trials because judges know best.
More than the peoples right to know, it's the obligation of the Canadian citisen to be informed.
