Check out this Video, its not biased or anything, it only shows the real story behind several troops that fled to Canada in order to escape being imprisoned.

http://video.google.ca/videoplay?docid= ... king+ranks

Its called Breaking Ranks

Not biased? You have a strange idea of not biased.

All four of these.......... whatever in the hell they are, are deserters and cowards. Yep, even the ones who did their time in Iraq. Especially the one who deserted while on leave back home. He left men and women behind him who trusted him with their lives.

Cowards again for not having the character to actually stand for their beliefs. If their views on the war are so strong then stand and take your lumps lads. No one put a gun to their heads to sign on the dotted line. They ALL volunteered AFTER 9/11. If they could not see combat in their future, then I guess they were also as dumb as a stump.

If their feelings were so strong, if the war in Iraq was so wrong why then run to Canada? Why not stay in the US, refuse to go and take the courts martial? I am willing to bet that folks like the Washington Post or the NY Times would have taken up their cause (hell the Times ran 20 plus articles about women not being allowed to be members of Augusta National Golf Club.......generated a protest of almost 20 people that year at The Masters)

Lastly, sorry I am having REAL trouble with Kyle Snyder's story (you know, the one who left his fellow soldiers to hang out to dry). He trained as a gunner on the .50 cal rifle? Rifle? Anyone who ever trained as a gunner on the .50 would have a pretty good idea that the .50 is a heavy machine gun and about as far from a rifle as you could hope to get.

What is your next unbiased film for us to watch? Loose Change? Fahrenheit 9/11?

tritium @ Wed Feb 14, 2007 5:50 pm

I was watching part of that video and the guy says; "it's just awful over here."

Fuck man it's a war, did you think you would be planting daisy's.

Heres the problem that I have with troops fleeing for Canada from the US. They are told when they signup that they may be called back into service X amount of years after they leave or during times they will not be able to release (a good friend of mine is an Ex Ranger). Still people sign... and then they run when the going gets tough and claim "It's unfair"well as the old saying goes... you made your bed so lay in it.

It's getting late... no time to watch tonight. I'll have to check this out tomorrow... needless to say,

These boys would be welcome at my pad. I admire real men of courage... men with real honor and respect.

I'm sure this is only the tip of the iceburg. The US military had to have picked up a few people with more than half a brain in their trolling of high schools. I'm sure there is more than a few who are smart enough to know the difference between right and wrong, and will make this difficult, but ethical and morally sound decision.

It is weak to say... "well, I'm only following orders?" or "I signed up for war... I guess I have to kill?"

It is the popular excuse for the losers who are still grasping at the finest threads holding this fiasco together. The military is a great place for the weak of mind... a place to dumb down and let others tell you what to do.

You're attitude towards the Military as a whole what it stands for could be because the Canadian Military rejected you as you're a Cluster F_ck?

Not surprised....... it seems you have a warped since of courage anyway.

Your projecting an exaggeration to bolster you view, which makes you sound like Chicken Little. If they're only picking up kids with half a brain, then you and a few other split the other half. Anyone that volunteers for service for the benefits also signs up for the potential danger......that's why they call it an Army. They weren't drafted and forced to go, which makes them dishonest, unethical, hypocritical, cowards, lacking any morality.

Since you don't have the obvious moral fibre to do their job and will never put yourself in a that position, you have no right to that opinion.

Agreed!

I have spare spine somewhere for him, it's wrapped in moral fiber and ethics. Probably to big for C123's 3' 6" stature.

We had these deserters here before but that was the era of the draft........
How would you feel if the US was sheltering our deserters?
Oh well for the better red than dead peaceniks........blow me!!!!!!

Sorry to screw up your rant bud but......

The Browning 50cal M2HB is not alone any more.

Commercially available in the US to civilians are about 15 different rifles chambered for the M2's 50 cal round. The most famous is the Barrett----which Canada's gun grabbers have seen fit to put upon the prohibited weapons list. The others are merely restricted.

The Barrett is a massive semi-auto equiped with a large muzzle brake and apparently is an adventure to fire non-the-less.

Actually, this is the truth. You do need people who can be trained (brainwashed or whatever) to follow orders no matter what. Goes for cops too.

Not saying that there are not smart people in th military, its just harder to train people who will think before following orders. And who wants to be in a war with people like that?

You have somewhat of a point there Mr. Brasco, well put. I am impressed

baylee @ Sat Apr 14, 2007 1:03 pm

Hmm.

You say when they signed the dotted line they knew what they were getting into.

Well actually, no they didnt

Iraq is not a war. These people did not sign up to Invade a country that was no threat to North America. They did not sign up to go kill people and occupy their country because the supposed leader of the Country( bush) lied about why they were invading another country.
National guardsmen did not sign up to be shipped overseas to be killed in Iraq because enlistment has dropped so badly in the States.

I say anyone who does not want to die in Iraq and Afghanistan is more than welcome in Canada

Cowards again for not having the character to actually stand for their beliefs.

Hey dummy, that is exactlly what they are doing.
YOU FOOL YOU
