“Now anyone can get married to a Kashmiri girl without any issue. That is all I said and it is the truth. This is freedom for the people of Kashmir. That is why we organised the event on Tuesday. Now, Kashmiris have attained freedom,” Saini added.

So this is bad? I understand the repealing of Article 370 just makes Kashmir a regular state, subject to all the normal rights and laws of India.

Yes...Marrying Kashmiri girls forcefully is bad. Do you really think Kashmiri girls, in general, would want to marry Indian men? Especially since their community is facing oppression from Indians.? Here is mentality of Indians being displayed which only South Asians can understand.

Who gives the Indians right to decide about people who are oppressed and don't want to live with India?

Indians have overplayed here...I hope Pakistan does something apart from expelling ambassador and other stuff, which has been done recently.

After removal of those articles, Indians have declared themselves as occupying force...

Kashmir experiencing unprecedented lockdown, 8 million people ‘incarcerated’: Shah Faesal

The former IAS officer claimed that its the loss of statehood that has hurt people deeply.
J&K People’s Movement president Shah Faesal on Wednesday said Kashmir was experiencing an unprecedented lock-down and the local people were yet to make sense of what had befallen them.

“No violent incident has been officially reported so far. Random incidents of stone throwing were reported from Rambagh, Natipora, Downtown, Kulgam, Anantnag. But, no news of any killings,” said Mr. Faesal through his Twitter account.

“People are in shock, numb...yet to make sense of what befell them. Everyone is mourning what we lost...its the loss of statehood that has hurt people deeply. This is being seen as the biggest betrayal by the Indian state in last 70 years,” he said. “It was not possible to reach Omar Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti, Sajad Lone or send a message to them. In other districts, curfew is all the more strict. You can say that the entire eight-million population has been incarcerated like never before,” he said.

Mr. Faesal said there was no shortage of goods and essentials as of now. Only those having Dish TV could access news. “Many people still have a bleak idea of what happened,” he said.

He said a few leaders who escaped detention had called for calm through TV channels. “It is being said that the government is ready for a casualty figure of 8,000-10,000 thousand. So, sanity demands that we don't give anyone a chance for mass massacre. My appeal has also been that let's stay alive, then we shall fight back,” he said.

Mr. Faesal said the body language of security personnel manning barricades was “extremely harsh” and that people were being bullied. “But, it's extremely heartening that Kashmiris are staying calm,” he said.

“At airport, I met crowds of heartbroken youth asking me questions about what should we do now. I said we shall go to Supreme Court together and ask for reversing this injustice. All political parties are together on challenges these unconstitutional laws that have deprived us of our history and identity,” said Mr. Faesal.

Stating that he had no expectation from the international community, he said: “The sad fact of life is that only Narendra Modi and Amit Shah can one day give back to us the wealth that has been stolen from us in broad daylight. But then, what's lost has been lost. Or, perhaps, everything has been lost, except our resolve to fight back. And we shall.”

PM rules out backing militants for Kashmir

ISLAMABAD.: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday ruled out supporting militant groups as an option in the wake of India’s illegal annexation of Kashmir, saying that doing so would be detrimental to the cause.

The premier also apprehended the possibility of India staging a false flag operation in a bid to create a situation similar to post-Pulwama so that the world’s attention could be diverted from what was happening in the occupied valley.

“The threat is very real. We will have to respond to such a scenario and this is how we have seen wars starting between nations,” PM Imran told a group of senior journalists.

The prime minister said it seemed that US President Donald Trump’s mediation offer triggered India to make the hasty decision of depriving occupied Kashmir of its special status by revoking Article 370 its constitution.

“We tried really hard to normalise ties with India,” he explained. “But they [Narendra Modi’s government] exploited the situation. They exploited Pulwama [attack] for their elections. They have been lobbying to get us blacklisted by the FATF (Financial Action Task Force] as well,” he added.

The premier maintained that Modi was following in the footsteps of Hitler. “His party BJP [Bharatiya Janata Party] is pursuing the same tactics that the Nazis did [in Germany]. They want an India that is only for Hindus alone and carry out genocide in Kashmir,” he remarked.

PM Imran said the Indian government’s move in Kashmir is not meant to benefit anyone but driven by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sang’s (RSS) Hindutva ideology or “Hindu supremacy” according to which Christians and Muslims were invaders.

The prime minister said there would be a strong reaction in occupied Kashmir after the curfew is lifted there.

“Things are quite serious. India has played its last card on Kashmir. They don’t have any other option after this,” he added.

PM Imran said war was not an option but Pakistan needed to tell the world about what was happening in occupied Kashmir. “We were heard for the first time after Pulwama and now the world has started to understand the gravity of this issue,” he noted.

“Modi has actually committed a blunder [by stripping occupied Kashmir of its special status] and it will give fresh impetus to the indigenous freedom struggle, leading to the liberation of Kashmir.”

‘Bystanders’

Later, the prime minister asked the international community if it had the “moral courage to prevent India from carrying out genocide in occupied Kashmir.

“Will we watch another appeasement of fascism, this time in the garb of BJP government,” he tweeted.

The prime minister said that the entire world was looking to see what transpired in the valley after the curfew was lifted by the Indian regime.

“Does the BJP govt think by using greater military force against Kashmiris in IOK, it will stop the freedom movement? Chances are it will gain momentum,” he wrote.

Article 371A in Nagaland,
Article 371B in Assam,
Article 371C in Manipur,
Article 371F in Sikkim,
Article 371G in Mizoram...

These are some of the constitutional provisions in the Indian constitution which prevents outsiders to settle in these States, also these are still the STATES not Union territories but it seems Saffron fascists are only bothered by the Statehood of Kashmir and its Article 370, so it is not really about integration but colonization of Kashmir by Indian State. Snatching away the autonomy, abolishing the statehood, dividing the land and scraping the article 370 has nothing to do with assimilation but changing the demography of the only muslim majority Kashmir and quashing the democratic rights of its citizens.

The colonization of constitutionalism in 21st century saffron India.

However India's lower house, ie elected body, voted on this and really it's sovereign Indian territory. Whether Islamabad or Beijing likes it or not. I guess you could wage (nuclear) war over the territory.

Yet because of the area is being disputed by Pakistan and China as to who truly has a right to it we get this type of situation. :(

Kashmir (all disputed territory) should be administered by either the Kashmiri people or the UN.

But it's the UN that must first recognize them as their own state. . .

Kashmir was never Indian territory.

UNITED NATIONS: UN Secretary General António Guterres on Thursday called on all parties to refrain from taking steps that could affect the status of Jammu and Kashmir, which is recognised as a disputed territory by the United Nations and the Security Council.

Noting that the secretary general was following the situation with concern, the statement clarified that the UN position on Kashmir was tied to its own charter and applicable Security Council resolutions

Pakistanis agree with that as Khan said we want what Kashmiris want....but Indians, well...They just want land against the wishes of people.

Would anyone consider the rise of Nationalism as something akin to pushback do to the "globalization" of the world. Where people are starting to get upset from other nations telling them to change their ways, laws, attitudes, beliefs and vlaues on many different and ranging topics. All in the name of globalization.

Some might look at it along the lines of why should I change for you why don't you change for my beliefs and values. Thus a growing sense of Nationalism vs the rest of the world.

The issue is that the primary hotbed of nationalism in the world is the U.S. A country that has spent the last 60 years trying to get countries to change their ways, laws, attitude, beliefs, and values on many different and ranging topics. It became a bad thing to America when people turned around and wanted it to change it's ways.

llama66 @ Fri Aug 09, 2019 10:42 am

Because I'm a pedantic ass, Fighter, you mean to tell me that Kashmir, pre-partition was not part of India?

You was what Kashmiris want so long as it's in the interest of Pakistan. Personally I couldn't care less about a pocket of the planet I'll never visit, but both India and Pakistan will wage war and Pakistan has publicly said you'll use nukes to win, I firmly believe neither of you should have it. While I'd love nothing more than a giant fucking asteroid resetting this petty god-forsaken species quickly, I have no desire of starving to death slowly because your two countries lobbed nukes at each other like petulant children would throw sand in a playground sandbox.

Do I care who's to blame, nope. As far as I'm concerned, both your countries are.

No one gives two shits about the League of nations 2.0. They became irrelevant once they started to try to implement the Global Government.

I keep seeing Pakistan wants what Kashmiri wants yet never do we see or hear what it is that Kashmiri wants.
