Scape Scape:
Tman1 Tman1:
Those tests are BS. You cant judge someone because they chose the difference of moderatly to strongly or in between.

$1:
Whichever IAT you do, we ask you (optionally) to report the relevant attitude or belief. These demonstrations should be more valuable if you have also tried to describe your self-understanding of the characteristic that the IAT is designed to measure. We also ask (again, optional) for information that can be used to assess possible differences among age, gender, or racial groups in performances on the four IATs. Of course, any such differences must be interpreted cautiously, because those who use this site are not necessarily representative of their age, gender, or racial categories. Please note that all tests require fluency in English.

Data exchanged with this site are protected by SSL encryption, and no personally identifying information is collected. IP addresses are routinely recorded, but are completely confidential and never directly associated with data from the demonstration tasks.

Important disclaimer: In reporting to you results of any IAT test that you take, we will mention possible interpretations that have a basis in research done (at the University of Washington, University of Virginia, Harvard University, and Yale University) with more elaborate versions of these tests. However, these Universities, as well as the individual researchers who have contributed to this site, make no claim for the validity of these suggested interpretations. If you are unprepared to encounter interpretations that you might find objectionable, please do not proceed further. You may prefer to examine general information about the IAT before deciding whether or not to proceed.

With that in mind I took the test, with 6 beers and...

$1:
Your data suggest Inconclusive result - too many errors.

Nonsense, it is testing subconscious reactions. You don't get to 'think' about your reactions or better yet judge you just do. That is the essence of racist. You can contest that but I have yet to hear a better definition.

I made sure I loved whites the first time and blacks the second time. Wasn't hard. :o

It is? wow.. People THINK what they want, it has nothing to do with second reactions or split second decisions.

What? You judge everyday, how else to you cross the street? Do you blindly walk across the street or do you judge it is safe? And what criteria do you use to make that judgment? It is that criteria that is being scrutinized by the test and even fast hands-eye coordination will still have to make a judgment, that's the point. XD

Uh right scape you lost me. I think Proclaimation even set out the definition of racism for you.

Scape @ Thu May 26, 2005 11:28 pm

But you couldn't or wouldn't.

What if we deliberate, though- and choose to walk in front of the semi? What if we choose to falsify the Harvardian testamajig? Lots of mindgames can take place in that test- and let's just say it ain't the test's doin' either.

Scape @ Thu May 26, 2005 11:31 pm

But even deliberation is still based on judgments, more elaborate albeit, but judgments none the less.

Yes, I agree with that. I guess I was still on the "voiding the tests" train of thought.

Tman1 @ Thu May 26, 2005 11:35 pm

Basically what your saying is that my own personal judgments mark me a definate racist.

Scape @ Thu May 26, 2005 11:37 pm
