Take the Harvard Implicit Association Test

Tman1 @ Thu May 26, 2005 8:55 pm

Those tests are BS. You cant judge someone because they chose the difference of moderatly to strongly or in between.

Scape @ Thu May 26, 2005 8:57 pm

Define racist then.

Your data suggest a strong automatic preference for Black relative to White

Interesting result since I'm a white 20-something from homogenous rural Southern Ontario (Huron County)

Tman1 @ Thu May 26, 2005 9:05 pm

Your test seems a matter of preference. If I prefer white women over black am I racist?

RoyalHighlander @ Thu May 26, 2005 9:07 pm

They have a test for nearly everything LOL

Tman1 @ Thu May 26, 2005 9:08 pm

It's probably based on my personal experiences. I've never been wronged by a black person before, but I haven't come across many either.

I've seen a black person in a car today and he 'cut' me on the highway... two times !!
And he worn a yellow shirt !!!

According to this test, I have a slight preferance for young people ... 8O

Those tests weren't very helpful. You can make yourself get whatever you want to get.

Whichever IAT you do, we ask you (optionally) to report the relevant attitude or belief. These demonstrations should be more valuable if you have also tried to describe your self-understanding of the characteristic that the IAT is designed to measure. We also ask (again, optional) for information that can be used to assess possible differences among age, gender, or racial groups in performances on the four IATs. Of course, any such differences must be interpreted cautiously, because those who use this site are not necessarily representative of their age, gender, or racial categories. Please note that all tests require fluency in English.

Data exchanged with this site are protected by SSL encryption, and no personally identifying information is collected. IP addresses are routinely recorded, but are completely confidential and never directly associated with data from the demonstration tasks.

Important disclaimer: In reporting to you results of any IAT test that you take, we will mention possible interpretations that have a basis in research done (at the University of Washington, University of Virginia, Harvard University, and Yale University) with more elaborate versions of these tests. However, these Universities, as well as the individual researchers who have contributed to this site, make no claim for the validity of these suggested interpretations. If you are unprepared to encounter interpretations that you might find objectionable, please do not proceed further. You may prefer to examine general information about the IAT before deciding whether or not to proceed.

With that in mind I took the test, with 6 beers and...

Your data suggest Inconclusive result - too many errors.

*faints*
