well... yeh! apparently, India overruns China greatly
I mean China would have probably kept some things from Britain once they would pull out in the future. They would have had a spread of the English language and culture not just isolated like in Hong Kong but across the country and could have ended up as powerful as the United States by now if not more. Much like what was left and set up when the 13 colonies rebelled China too could have grew and spread. China could have become the America of the Asiatic in that sense but Britain failed and China did weaken as Bart said and without much protection were left vulnerable and open to more radical ideas like communism from the Soviet Union and hostile invasion. If China never even rebelled like India did they might have been able to put their own sovereign government in much like Canada had and form their own self-governing dominion.

So a drunk American is stumbling around Dublin and has to take a piss. All the pubs are closed so he finds an alley way. As he starts to let 'er go he gets a tap on the shoulder from a strapping lad with a badge saying "you can't do that here!". the American, blush with embarrasement says "I am so sorry buit I really had to go and all the pubs were closed". The officer takes him down the street and through a few more alley ways and opens a nice iron gate. The American sees nothing but blush flowers and well kept grass. The 'ol Mc says "Have at 'er! Feel free to snooze on the bench if you like...you'll have no bothers here." The American says, "Where am I? Is this a hidden Irish grove?". The officer says "No, it's the British Embassy".
An Irishman walk out of a bar.......Hey, it could happen.

Like what? Are you saying it would have been impossible for China to come under British rule?

If the British Empire hadnt intervened as much as it did in China, it wouldnt of been Communist at all. Communism was only a means to ride Chinese soil of foreign involvement. Involvement that disolved a long standing united empire, into a feudal country, Chinese against Chinese with foreign powers pulling the strings.

Communism was not only a means to rid China of foreign involvement. The Chinese civil war was well already underway before WWII and the Japanese occupation. China was mostly a rurual peasant class of people and during the time when socialism was an alternative to nationalistic imperial governments (Russia) Mao Zedong firmly believed in his ideas and the changes he believed his country would take. Notably the "Great Leap Forward" and the "Cultural Revolution".

This is a false statement since regardless of British invervention, Mao Zedong still would have wanted his ideas to run the country. Obviously if Zedong lost, then perhaps there wouldn't be any communism in China.
