right...you go on believing that. the US appointed itself international police man (aka bully). this is the classic bush lie that i've mentioned before: america is the bringer of all that is good. america brought death and destruction and is forcing a false democracy on a poeple who don't want it. america has the responsibility to mind its own business
Ironic that Europe begs the US to get involved with Kosovo because they were unable to handle the problem. Like most of the world, when they need help, they call upon the White House and the American people for relief.
Perhaps the world would stop requiring the US to be their "policeman."
as far as i can remember "europe" was opposed to the iraq war.

I believe the US has a responsibility in providing to the Iraqi people the ability to secure their country.
I believe the US has the responsibility to clean up the mess they have created.
Roc Roc:
There are other areas that the international community could help. I mean, the international community had no problem selling arms to Saddam, oh yeah, no problem there.
Neither did America when it suited them. What's the difference?
Roc Roc:
You are not punishing the US by deliberately screwing Iraq. That's absurd.
If the member nations decide not to pitch in, the US will bear the entire cost of the war in dollars and casualties (What has it cost so far?). And I think it should, it started this war after all. Unilateral action and pre-emptive wars are bad, if neo-cons have to learn the hard way...
Roc Roc:
Carpeting bombing civilian populations is patently false.
Bombs don't discriminate.

Please correct me if I am wrong but I believe it is evident in many ways that Americans believe themselves to be superior to Canadians. Going on that assumption, if Americans believe they are superior to people who look, speak, dress and have the same income as they do, then how on Earth do they regard the people of the third world? When you believe yourself to be superior to others, your ability to treat them with respect diminishes exponentially. Not regarding someone with respect is problematic in many ways. Canadians do not look at the world the same way. We do not think we are superior to anyone. Being richer, more knowledgeable or more talented is something to be thankful for. There is a responsibility that goes along with that good fortune. Canada and the US are only wealthy because of what our ancestors have accomplished. We are not wealthy because this particular generation has earned it. We are no different than those in the third world that are just now inheriting what there ancestors passed down to them. They are just like us. Except, we have ancestors that chose a more successful path. This is something Americans do not get. Americans need to remake that wheel. The party is winding down.
I don't hate Americans...but I do hate American-wannabees like you Godz...
...but it is true that Canada lacks identity most of the time...but what can one expect with the movies and TV we watch, and the music we listen to...85.9% (I just made that number up, and you can call me on it if you want to) of our entertainment is American...even the Canadians that make it big in the entertainment industry may as well be Americans...but who the hell are we going to look to...Paul Martin? Stephen Harper? Both American wannabees...one's just a little less obvious about it...
...it pains me that there are no true distinctly Canadian icons anymore unless they're a joke...Don Cherry and Red Green (Steve Smith) come to mind...well there is Gordon Lightfoot of course...and I'm sure all the teens are hip to him...
...so it's about time that this country drummed up a truly Canadian hero before it's too late, and we all become acclimated to American society, and assimilated into American culture...
Resistence is NOT futile...

Thanks man, I needed that. All I see from Canadians to describe themselves is that "WERE NOT AMERICANS WE ARE BETTER THAN THEM!!! WE HAVE HEALTHCARE!!!!! WE ARE NOT AMERICANS!!!" Don't believe me, just turn on the CBC, all you hear in town hall meetings is that "We are better then the Americans, we have more social programs!!!" Pathetic!!! No wonder this nation still struggles to find its identity. (Which apart from Hockey, I see no major distinguishing factor).
So are you saying we're not better than them, aside from our military of course?
...and I must admit...I've never read Pierre Berton...

Then don't bi*ch about Halliburton when they move in and clean the place up.

Western Europe, Russia and China were Saddam's largest arms suppliers during the UN arms embargo.

I guess we'll see what happens. Whatever it might turn out to be, I'm sure lefties will find something to complain about.

Again, where's the proof carpet bombing even occurred? These pictures proof nothing. Pictures of injured/killed people with quaint little leftist jibberish means nothing.

What do think happened during Shock and Awe? Do you think it was like going to an airshow with cool planes flying around and some fireworks?

Anybody who slanders the US military with claims of "carpet bombing civilians" may not be a leftist as much as a fool. Maybe even both.

Pretty much. Don't give us that crap about every bomb being carefully targeted either. You bombed the hell out of civilian neighbourhoods, took out infrastructure they needed for the basics of life, and killed about 100,000 innocents.
You can try to deny it all you want. You can grasp at the straws that you think will justify it. In the end though what you did was kill a bunch of babies to keep your SUVs running.

Killing of 100,000 civilians in Iraq would definately make the mainstream liberal media which would play for weeks on end. And yet, even the media cannot produce any evidence in support of these grandiose claims.
It's nice to see someone on CKA that has some concrete evidence. Whip it out. Let's see it.
It comes from a reliable source. If you don't like the number produce another from another reliable source. Of course your military refuses to count any dead but their own.
