...has been trumped by the war in Iraq.

Iraq new terror breeding ground, report finds

$1:
WASHINGTON -- Iraq has replaced Afghanistan as the training ground for the next generation of "professionalized" terrorists, according to a report released Thursday by the National Intelligence Council, the CIA director's think tank.

Iraq provides terrorists with "a training ground, a recruitment ground, the opportunity for enhancing technical skills," said David Low, the national intelligence officer for transnational threats. "There is even, under the best scenario, over time, the likelihood that some of the jihadists who are not killed there will, in a sense, go home, wherever home is, and will therefore disperse to various other countries."

Low's comments came during a rare briefing by the council on its new report on long-term global trends.

I know, common knowledge to anybody but the American Republicans / Neo-conservatives, nice to see somebody south of the border actually standing up and saying so. I don't expect the story to get much media attention.

After the Yanks wrecked Kosovo it became the training ground for terrorists. When the Yanks kicked over a few ant hills in Afghanistan it became terrorist central. Now they have pissed a lot of people in Iraq off and the terrorists are coming from there. Could there be a pattern emerging?

You need to understand that this is what the American right wants. How else can hey scare people into voting for them. How else are Republicans in Congress going to score more defense money.

More like training grounds for the drug trade. If the war on terror is anything like the so called war on drugs then the Cia is proffiting somewhere.

The CIA is always getting involved in things they shouldn't, but they don't do that alone. Their orders come from the White House. Policy is set, the CIA carries out.

The fact that there is a national debate over the legitimacy of state sponsored torture illustrates the extent to which America's moral values have been perverted.

A top Saudi cleric has urged Muslims to shun militant forms of Islam, as pilgrims carried out one of the final rituals of the Hajj.
Militants were using "misguided" interpretations to justify violence, Mecca's Imam Abdul Rahman Sudeis said.

I'm not saying that at all, Dan. You see Godz fully supports the Bush position on Iraq but, just like Bush, is afraid to put his money where his mouth is. I've been encouraging him to sign up for Iraq ever since he first mentioned he was moving to the US, but it turns out that he lacks the courage of his convictions.

He's just another chickenhawk.
