U.S. Finds Suspicious Chemicals in Iraq

Rev_Blair @ Wed Apr 23, 2003 4:24 am

That's actually old news...it first hit about a week ago. No chemical biological or weapons have been found. No evidence of them being recently destroyed has been found.

If Saddam had such weapons, why didn't he use them when he knew he was going to lose? He hasn't been shy about using them in the past.

polemarch1 @ Wed Apr 23, 2003 10:34 am

Possibly because he new he was finished. Not useing his WMD's makes him look innocent and increases his legend in Arab eye's.

James1982 @ Fri Apr 25, 2003 1:57 pm

the weapons are in the US or in a oil raffinery

Rev_Blair @ Sat Apr 26, 2003 4:26 am

Yeah right, Pole. Saddam has a long history of worrying what other leaders in the area think.

Saddam sees himself as an Arab hero. Well he dosen't care what other leaders think of him he does care how he'll be remebered by the people and the people have a short memory. 90% will only remeber what happened last and the Arabs are masters at self-delusion.

Acually I don't watch TV unless there's a Leafs/Jays/Raptors game or a movie on. I get my news from the net.

come on polemarch, if your going to insult someone, use something clever. I laughed at you because you were making ignorant statements. Firstly you said that saddam only cares about how his people view him...He starves his own people, and forces them to fight against their will, i really dont think that he cares about how his people feel. Secondly you said that the arab people were to stupid to know what is going on, and that 90% will only know what they are told. The people of iraq welcome new leaders, because it is when they firstly have a new leader that they are treated the best. The iraqy people have been so unfortunate to have such a power hungry leader control them for so long, that they will welcome a change, even if it is just another power hungry leader. so they are not the masters at self delusion, they are simply joyous at the fact that they have new hope

He also cursed the UN and then argued that Bush should have solved the oil crisis through the same organixation. Plus he argued how everyone should turn a blind eye to any war-time killings because it gives people hope.

Where are those WMD? Let's see. Prior to this so called 'war', the CIA, FBI and hell knows who else had been in Iraq for at least 15 years and found zilch. Inspectors also founc nothing. Now, more than one month after the invasion, all that has been found is a few empty cannisters. Even soldiers can't find anything. Hmm interesting. Not to mention that no WMD were used by Iraqui forces for defence. Ironically, stories are starting to surface just now about suspicions. How convenient.
