The whole of Bush's reason to invade was to stop the "regiem" from using WMD. Ok then, WHERE ARE THEY ???

"They search him here,
they search him there,
those silly French search every where
For the Scarlet Pimpernel,,"

Well it seems its now the US that are searching and the WMD is the Pimpernel
Elusive smart and never to be found...
Im waiting to find they might even plant stuff there to justify what they've done
Any one else here see where i'm comng from with this??

WMDs might just be hidden really good . I suppose it's possible some stuff could have been smuggled to Syria . Maybe some of the the finds the U.S. is investigating will turn up positive results . If some WMDs are discovered , or proof of them - the best thing the U.S. can do is to allow international inspectors to investigate, along with U.S. personnel - any such claims . Weapons inspectors ought to be allowed back into Iraq ASAP to search for banned weapons . What is disturbing to me is that recent polls indicate that a large majority of Americans still feel the war is justified even if WMDs are not found . Additionally , a considerable number of citizens believe Iraq was directly responsible for 9/11 . Some U.S. soldiers have made reference to the war as " Payback " for what Osama and his stooges did .

What makes you think UN ispectors will want to find the WMD's? France, Germany, Russia, China and the whole UN are less then thrilled with the US's actions. They won't want to find WMD's so they'll take steps to insure they don't find them then say the Americansn are a bunch of cowboys.

All the more reason to have joint inspections .

Two quick notes:

1. What about the U.S.'s WMD? Who's controlling them?

2. I may be wrong on this one, but didn't the U.S. sell them WMD? Isn't that why they know about them? I know there was a big controversy during the Reagan years about selling weapons to Iran, but didn't they also sell weapons to the Iraqis?

"Weapons of Mass (DISTRACTION)"

Iraq had destroyed alot of their chem/bio weapons, after the 1st Gulf War. If they still have them, why haven't they used them? You'd think a guy like Saddam would have used them on the U.S. invasion forces, when it's "do or die" time.

Funny the State department never talks about where Iraq purchased such technology. If the US goes after those that give WMD to terrorist's, then what about the countries responsible for giving it to Iraq?

Even if the US doesn't find WMD, they'll happen to "find" some. The CIA probably planted some where the Marines can find them, in the not to distant future.

I see now the US is accusing Syria of hiding Iraq's WMD. That's the next stop for the crusaders. The US are "masters of justification". After Syria, maybe Iran? Who's next? "Who'll Stop the Rain"?

Freeing the Iraqi people seems to be another big reason for this war. I wonder why they don't free the Chinese, and North Koreans. They've been terribly oppressed for many more years than Iraq?

Hey, they'll be found...as soon as the Bush administration has time to manufacture and plant them.

It should be WEAPONS OF MASS DISTRACTION.

Last night I watched a program called avoiding Armaggedon hosted by Walter Cronkite . There were several segments , along with several viewpoints on how to prevent a WMD catastrophe . I came away even more convinced that there are far better solutions to the dangers we face than the current policies . If anything , we are now at greater risk of attack than before , and little is being done about the underlying problems that fuel the flames of fanaticism .

Here's the website for the program . It's pretty extensive , so you may just want to watch the T.V. show . These are issues that concern all of us :

Now , this site is for polemarch's enjoyment :

We have to face it. Statistically, it's just a matter of time before there's a nuclear war. The stats also say that it should be pretty soon. My bet (hope)is on a Pakistan/India tilt.....then again N Korea.....then again Iran......

If we can keep it in Asia, and limit the size, we may be able to preserve a semblance of civilization.

Who knows. :?:

   this is one of those thing that i love to talk about what gives the USA the right to start looking for/and attacking countrys that have weapons of mass distruction after seeing that they have the largest stock pile of them themselves and what really makes me mad is that when the USA wants to do something no matter what it is they just do it even if its without the premission of the UN and the UN dosent really do anything to stop the USA.

Happyman @ Sun Apr 20, 2003 2:12 pm

its increadably easy to hide weapons in a place such as iraq. with the UN inspectors out, even for a few days, all you need is some trucks to pick them up, drive into the desert, and bury them
