Hi...nice to meet you all...I am hoping to move to Fort McMurray from the UK later in the year...there seems to be a lot of people saying bad things about FM - has anyone got anything good to say? :D

I was raised in Fort McMurray but currently live in Scotland. Why the heck do you want to move to McMurray out of all the places in Canada? If you just say it's for the money you're in for a rude surprise lol

I could ask you the same about Scotland - where abouts are you? Fort McMurray because i have relatives and easy to get a job - plan is probably to stay there few years and consider moving elsewhere - i have been though and i thought that it seemed ok - i know you dont get a full perspective until your actually living there but i think i can probably safely say that i have lived in lots of worse places in england. To answer your next question though - no i am not going for the money - happiness is the important thing for me - money can help with that but not create it!!

I live in a little state called South Carolina inside of an insignificant country called the United States of America. Big fan of Northern England/Scotland too. I went up there for a trip recently.

South Carolina - never been but hear its nice. I'm from the north of england, where have you been? I live in hartlepool at the mo and work in Sunderland... at a guess did you visit newcastle? york?

I actually flew into Edinburgh and spent most of my time visiting distilleries farther north in Speyside or to the west. It was quite fun. :) [B-o]

Also - SC is very nice when we turn the humidity down from 100%. It just doesn't happen too often.

littlemiss @ Wed Jul 09, 2008 12:57 pm

Well i'm glad you enjoyed it - you should try slightly further south next time... as for your humidity problem - at least its not like winter in the middle of July like it is here!

Oh goodness, I visited 5 on Islay, 7 or so up in Speyside, and one or two in the Western Highlands. It need not be said that we had to take quite a few driving breaks.

Well we kind of set a date - we are thinking mid October - providing everything comes through in time... Where abouts are you going and when you hoping to go?
