AS far as I know, lottery and gambling wins in Canada are tax free. However, it's possible the CRA would regard this as a gift, and I'm not too sure what the rules are regarding that. Either way, if you send me a chunk of free money, and I end up with a slightly smaller chunk of free money in the end... it's still free money 
Hate to burst your bubble, but you can't win that lottery, it's only for US residents. And in the US, the IRS takes 50% off the top of your winnings. So as I said, Bart would be paying all the tax up front, then gifting us whatever our share is. So the only one paying taxes on this would be the guy who hates paying taxes.

Well, the more people post here, the smaller that 224/2 (for taxes) becomes for each of us. Personally I didn't vote, since there was no none of the above option.

I'd probabally be broke in a year or two, and there would be many charities that would never have to worry. And it would be an epic party!

Retirement about 20 years early, all bills paid off, all banks and credit cards told to go fuck themselves, several golf course memberships bought, and the girls who operate the drink carts at the courses find out that "harassment" and "reliable big tipped tipping customer" are synonymous.

There was this girl at one of the courses in Fort Mac who got this amazing boob job - and she told us it was specifically to get better tips while running the beer cart! And she said the tips paid for the boob job the first year!

A lot classier (and safer) for her than working at the Oil Can Tavern too. Less chance of getting slashed up by an angry biker or methed-out labourer/rig pig. 
Haven't been back up there since the Albian debacle last spring. Wonder if it's still as shitty or if it's managing to find an even lower level to sink to.

I still have a few friends that live there. It's not all that bad. Except for the traffic, if you want to drive to Edmonton or go to a bar anytime around payday.
God help you if you go near a bar when it's payday at the plants and the treaty cheques are in.
