Seriously though, it sounds pretty dumb to me. I woud think, if was designing a device to discourage rape, they'd (to be blunt) not wait till penetration to implement it.

Yeah sure, the rape is still there, stopped in its tracks in the very beginning but not avoided. The only solution i see that does not include penetration is a chastity belt, and that is a real time-travel back into the dark ages.
I give them props for coming up with something.

Rapists deserve to be castrated. I have no sympathy for some jack@ss who rapes some women getting his penis impaled a couple dozen times. Maybe that'll smarten him up. Too bad that it only stops the attacker once the raping has begun. No system is perfect I guess.

hey how about one that dies the penis bright orange or neon purple.... but inflicts some pain while doing it..

I don't agree, what if some girl gets drunk and forgets it's in there??? It doesn't sound like "oops" would cover it.
