Quantify this, if you'd be so kind.

So I should take that as a 'no thanks'?

Tis windy as hell here today (kinda nice actually) but we still went to the beach as it was 32 degrees today. I'm hoping that it's hot this weekend (crazy I know) just so I can go floating and catch a buzz!! [B-o]

canucker @ Sun Jul 30, 2006 9:37 am

Lucky you, it's still dry here.... :?

canucker @ Sun Jul 30, 2006 10:40 am

OHHH the rain finally came!! No thunder though. :(

crystalsm @ Sun Jul 30, 2006 12:39 pm

Rain, rain, rain, rain, rain...

I love the rain.

RUEZ @ Sun Jul 30, 2006 1:11 pm

Ah it's beautifull in Vernon today. And by beautifull I mean cloudy, cool, and not 33c.

Actually, it looks as if the surface temperature of the Arctic correlates extremely well with the CO2 levels, per your own chart. The chart could use a little catching up, atmospheric CO2 is now at 381 ppm, so rescaling will be needed to keep the line from going off the top. But it is quite informative, thanks for posting it.

Actually, the more CO2 spikes, the less there is a correlation. Basic math.
Quantify this, if you'd be so kind, because my eyes see a remarkable correlation, given the variables in play. What you're attempting to describe is anything but "basic math".

Tip: Just because the relationship isn't linear doesn't mean there's "less" correlation.

According to the chart we warm up a little every 100,000 years or so.

And does CO2 not increase with the increase in temperature?

It rained so hard here yesterday the frogs were wearing life jackets. 8O

I'm not sure what you're getting at, but the trends of temperature and CO2 are very similar in this graph. The spikes in temperature correspond to spikes in CO2 concentration, and similarly with the troughs.

This trend is consistant over the course of hundreds of thousands of years shown here, so I find it hard to believe anyone can refute the correlation.

Yes, I was puzzled by "basic math", now I think he meant the frequency of the spikes, not the correlation per-say.

I just threw in the reverse equation to stir some grey matter.

It's raining in Afghanistan. That is weird, seeing that I can count on one hand the number of times it has rained here. This though is the first for thunder and lightning.

Ripcat @ Mon Jul 31, 2006 1:28 pm

36C in the shade... :(

foxybcgurl @ Mon Jul 31, 2006 3:06 pm

It cooled off quite a bit here in the last couple of days. It was even raining yesterday!! 8O
