yeah I had the same problem.
It should be below the Avatar selection. There is also the option of posting in the members section.
There's also two profile links,dont use the one that drops down,use the mini link at top and it will then bring up the change info button. That's what you want to find.

Right above log out it should say profile,click that and look for the change info link,that should set you up. It is confusing as one profile link is different from the other.

Thats the one I went to, and I clicked change info, infact I have the page open in another tab and the only option is to add an avatar.

The little tiny blue link at the very top of the page? There's two choice's to edit your profile,sound's like your hitting the wrong one.
Your not useing IE are you?
