Im working in Cold lake for 2 weeks

I spent a few years in Cold Lake some time ago. Have they paved the road to Bonnyville yet? Is the Grand Shankers pub in Grand Centre still there?

Anyone ever remember a young man who drowned in Cold Lake? Lac Fedorchuk?

Well its getting funner and funner here LOL Minus 30 is the high today and i worked snow removal on the week end.. tonight ill be running a grader cleaqring streets for the city.. Im looking forward to this as it usually runs about 14-16 hours right through, and the money is good LOL

Well here is an update of what im doing here in beautiful but cold Alberta.. Working a picker truck taking drill pipe out to rigs in the north.. This trip we were just south of Grand Parairie Ab.. off the beaten path so to speak...
First pic is the top of a drill rig as we went by it, the next is passing a "shack" on its way to a site on a winch truck..

The followinbg pics are of a drill rig where we dropped off the pipe and some of the scenery .. Also the roads you see are ice roads where they spray water alobg a graded section to make a road that can take heavy trucks..

The truck I was on is a "boom " or "picker" truck thnat has a boom to unload it self anywhere.. I was swamping this trip and driving...

HAd a great big bull moose come out of the woods and run along side us not more than 8 foot away but I coulddnt get to my camera fast enough.. That would have made an awsome pic...

Did you hear about that vac truck that blew up on the lease site when they didnt ground it out? This was a couple of weeks ago and there was a grader parked next to it that burnt to the ground.Sounds like it was in that neck of the woods. I was going to be running that grader untill that happened.

Dont worry Zig there are LOTS of machines out there for you to play with LOL...(RH)

Just got back tonight from another rig, this time we were just inside the BC border on a mountain top.. what a trip to get there... Here are some pics..

camera.. WOW this last trip was a trip from hell... Hit a moose just soutyh of Grand Cache and messed up my Kenworth some what.. didnt do the moose any good either (killed on impact with a 92,000 lb truck) Then had to go north to Grand Prairie to load tubing for Chauvin Ab,, and was just barely ahead of the blizzard we are in the middle of right now (today Jan 10th).. Spent my birthday (51st) on the road trying to stay on the highway and not slide off into the ditch like sooooo many other dis.. What is easliy a 6 hr run from GP to Edmonton took nearly 11 hours... Saw trucks slide off the road cause they were going way to fast for conditions.. (i was running a steady 45-60 km /hour and that was sometimes too fst.When I got to edmopnton and the Yellowhead it was kaos... Cars and trucks all over the place in the ditches.. Even the snow remouval equipment was in the ditches inplaces so they pulled all the equipment off the roads till things clkear up..Its noon right now and its still bblowing quite bad..Was not one of my better trips this time.. Ziggy knows wehat I mean as he runs and works up in these areas too..
