I can't even remember abbas unless you guys are talking about that guy who came on board and was essentially preaching muslim religion at every turn.
Bart and I called him salad-head. Is that the same guy?
Yes! That guy!

Can't speak about his sex life, but his views certainly lean towards supporting the Taliban vice serving CF members, and if you can't see that my friend, get to lens crafters ASAP
I quite certain more then a few people here will say the same thing about me. I think
your opinion of him clouds your perception of his arguments just as you can say the same about me.
We won't be agreeing on this anytime soon.
Which happens sooooo often... I think a lot of posts are taken as who wrote them, instead of as the point that is being made...

Actually Derby, you come across as defensive, I don't recall ever getting into it with you over anyhting. Infact I think we had a long yap about hockey once. That's about it as I recall. Streaker on the other hand...........
Not you. Others however have gotten into it with me over Iraq/Afghanistan and I have no doubt they think me a terrorist sympathizer.
I don't recall sparring with you at all even in hockey. Sports wise I post mostly about the CFL with a rare post concerning hockey. To me we all have our favourite teams and its kinda silly to hate one another based on team affiliation.
Besides, I've lived in England. We are pure amateurs compared to them in that regard. I think the worst rivalry in that regard although will likely be Celtic/Rangers in Glasgow. As I understand it, its also religious based.

No, I think it's Liberals like you who usually ignore the few remaining common sense Liberals who actually have the courage to get incensed by the politically correct stupidity that your party is directly responsible for creating.
And only a Liberal (or a Dipper) could say something as mentally hilarious as banning our own flags and national anthems from schools is just another variation on "freedom".
Thats because you are mentally hilarious yourself. A single principal and a single college (and you didn't even read the stories to understand the crux) represents the entire Liberal/NDP pantheon.
What is it you guys were saying about making the majority responsible to the minority?
Only in a Liberal atmosphere could anything like the two incidents even occur, because only liberals can be twisted enough to think that the postive patriotism exemplified by the flag and the national anthem becomes open to debate every time some easily-offended minority decides it's time to get obnoxious.
Don't know what the hell you mean in your last sentence, but it's obvious that the Liberal mindset still, and always will, include the provision that the majority must always bend down at the knee every time some minority decides to re-imagine another part of Canadian society just to suit their preferences.
And be sure to posts lots of pictures of yourself from the next pro-sharia/death-to-Israel rally you attend.

case in point.
Knee-jerk reactionary garbage of no intelligent substance.

This is the same Streaker that started the thread to disband the CF? Regularily toldd 2CDO the Regiment was not required for this country? Yeah, thought so, funny way to increase spending
I don't ever recall a post where Streaker expressed joy at anyone dying in Afghanistan, although he is quite vocal that we should not be there. I think he honestly believes in the utopia of world peace. He, like many other here, believes that the 'Canada First' defence plan actually means that, defending Canada, not fighting wars in country on the other side of the globe. He advocated buying heavy icebreakers, a helicopter carrier icebreaker, better subs, etc. And I'm well aware of the argument of fighting them over there instead here, however, without a decent air force and navy to patrol our coasts, they'll get here anyways.
You only get offended when people talk about cutting your branch of the CF. I remember the argument we had a few months back when you scoffed about Maritime Command's ships fighting pirates, insisting your part of the war on terror was far more important. Plenty of people here advocate that we need a bigger navy and air force. You're just not one of them.
One problem I've noticed about a lot of the CF members who visit these boards and that I think many of them have bought into the CF culture too much, where everyone thinks every other branch/trade/etc is inferior to the one you're in. The Infantry derides the engineers, who scoff at the artillery, who makes jokes about the cushy living quarters in the air force, who joke about how all the sailors are gay, and so on. Whether or not you mean the jibes is irrelevant, it shows a lack of respect for each other and, to me, is quite frat boyish. It also proves many of you biased and is quite telling when they make arguments that we need more tanks more than we need new destroyers or supply ships or fighters (or whatever the disputed purchase is this month).

Be sure to point out all the conservatives who regularly attend events for the Tamil Tigers or Hezbollah. We'd really appreciate your help.

But they all fight together boots.
You totally miss the point. Esprit-de-corps and rivalry make the CF a better military.
The 'regimental' system which has served all of us so well is built on this stuff.

I disagree, myself and many of the CF members here who are from various backgrounds chcuk good natured shit at each other (as I and I am sure they do) at home with friends who serve elsewhere, hell my old man was a Stoker in the Navy and I was Christened on a Destroyer, that does not stop him and I from laughing at each other in a good natured way. I can't speak for others but I have very good friends in all 3 services, and civilians.

I remember the Esprit-de-corps quite well. I remember all the comments about Circus Battalion (Service Battalion), the lack of Intelligence Platoon, etc. My father has never forgotten that I was an army reservist (he was air force). I've been called a grunt thousands of times by him...
My point is that line of thinking creates tunnel vision. Like I said, I've been berated many times for advocating we need destroyers or we need gunships, by people who are in other services/trades, and the arguments that usually come my way are pretty self-involved (we don't have enough tanks to train on is an example). Even guys like CDS Hillier aren't above it, given some of his comments on buying transport planes and ships.

That's what so many civvies don't understand. Regimental, Branch, unit, wing etc. pride is good for morale when it is done with tongue in cheek.
My dad was a dirty old Royal, but we still talk!

What does a current greasy civie and former Toon know anyways? (wink)
*My smilies don't work on this system for some reason
Ahhhh 2CDO, now the truth comes out. Well now that explains your sharp wit and good taste(hockey teams), you were born with it. It is a shame you lost your way later in life after the Royals would not take you.

There will always be a few who actually buy the "better than everyone else mentality". The far majority see it for what it is - rivalry.
