Where did Benoit go?
Now there's a guy who could articulate well.

PENATRATOR PENATRATOR:
Ahhhh 2CDO, now the truth comes out. Well now that explains your sharp wit and good taste(hockey teams), you were born with it. It is a shame you lost your way later in life after the Royals would not take you.

It was more a case of I didn't want to join them! My dad and me are too much alike and I was afraid to find his enemies, that were privates under him, now running around as Warrants and Sergeant Majors! 8O

Yeah, ran into that in Cornwallis

This is the same Streaker that started the thread to disband the CF? Regularily toldd 2CDO the Regiment was not required for this country? Yeah, thought so, funny way to increase spending

Yes he did. He also reacted to some of the disgusting stuff being said about him but I have seen him post many times about wanting greater assets for the navy & airforce to enable Canada to police its own borders better.

He may indeed have had nasty words about the Airborne but quite frankly I think a lot of that was as much tit-for-tat insults. He also endured being called among many things, a pedophile, a terrorist sympathizer, and a necrophiliac.

What about him wanting to punch out vets who challenged his white poppy? That's acceptable?

That was me, to be honest, and it was misinterpreted. I just thought it would be funny to pass yourself off as a pacifist than punch a guy in the face that hassled you about it. Didn't necessarily have to be a vet.

It also doesn't mean, that because they have a different opinion on certain things, they are assholes, or "retarded" as you call it...

We don't use the word "retarded." We prefer "mentally hilarious."

If you have not trade marked that one, I would like to use that randomly!

I can't take credit, it's from Family Guy.

Thanks, now I have "Yes, Sergeant Major SIR" in my head

But they all fight together boots.
You totally miss the point. Esprit-de-corps and rivalry make the CF a better military.
The 'regimental' system which has served all of us so well is built on this stuff.

I remember the Esprit-de-corps quite well. I remember all the comments about Circus Battalion (Service Battalion), the lack of Intelligence Platoon, etc. My father has never forgotten that I was an army reservist (he was air force). I've been called a grunt thousands of times by him...

My point is that line of thinking creates tunnel vision. Like I said, I've been berated many times for advocating we need destroyers or we need gunships, by people who are in other services/trades, and the arguments that usually come my way are pretty self-involved (we don't have enough tanks to train on is an example). Even guys like CDS Hillier aren't above it, given some of his comments on buying transport planes and ships.

I'm sorry, a part-time soldier will never truly get the military mentality. You have to be in it 24/7 for at least 5 years to get the picture.
No disrespect to Militia guys.
I'll have an argument from a reservist who has done 6 months outside the wire in Afghanistan though.
I did 10 years regs and 3 in the TA (Militia). I think I have a handle on this stuff.

I can't even remember abbas unless you guys are talking about that guy who came on board and was essentially preaching muslim religion at every turn.

Bart and I called him salad-head. Is that the same guy?

Yes! That guy! :D

Pretty sure that was someone else (Saladin?).
