Someone coined the name "douchetard" (Shep?) a short while ago. I've been using that one fairly often over the last week.

Obviously, I've seen it done. I've watched people mock a group of people mourning a suicide. Once I see shit like that, calling someone a retard pales in comparison.

While making fun of the mentally challenged is not kosher, using the term retarded to describe the actions of someone who supposedly is not is no different than asking someone if they're blind, when they miss something obvious. It all depends on the subject being addressed(context is everything - a lesson some need to learn when warning others of their word usage).

Can't claim that one. My observations usually contain the terms 'pretentious, passive-agressive, self-righteous' That's usually sufficient to describe my contempt.

My late aunt Star was born with learning problems so was classed as a retard and put in an institution,they found her body in the souris river after some non retard took advantage of her dis ability.
She was ten times the person most would ever even hope to be,non judgmental and hated no one.
So I also take offence at the way some people use that word to supposedly make themselves look superior by comparing someone to a retard.

Personally, I find calling mentally challenged people retards more insulting than it being used as a random insult. We didn't change it to mentally challenged for nothing.
