Should prostitution be legalized in Canada?

Robert Pickton who killed many prostitutes was able to do the for months because it was unregulated. The street walkers were not missed.

I'm not really in favour of legalizing it, but I did see a documentary about a country I believe it was the Netherlands. They had areas set up designated for prostitution, like a drive in and it had booths for the cars to park . The prostitutes never left the general area, which made it very safe for them. If it has to be done I think that would be a way to go.

   

I think regulation and having designated areas for it is a good idea, and safer. Really what is the downside? its not going away.

Those women went missing, not because they were prostitutes but because they were drug addicts.

Prostitutes who ply their trade in a respectable or descreet manor are not the problem, and legalizing them would make no difference.

Forced Prostitutution from drugs, illegal immigration, or force are the problem and they should be found and rehabilitated instead of legalized.

   

Agreed. Religiously I don't agree with prostitution and it is one of the most degrading things as a occupation, for men and women. However, from a political view, I think designated areas would eliminate such crimes. That guy is a damn psycho, I read about him on the news a long time ago and I was like WTF is wrong with some of these people. Anybody have any updates on the guy, or why he did it?

I like pussy, addicted to it. If I pick it up in a bar, great it cost be $40 in drinks, if I pick it up in a brothel, at least it's a sure thing for $50.

I lived in Mexico for 8 months. They have bars down there called putteros (strip club/brothel), for 50 pesos ($5 USD) you can have your choice of the strippers for 30 minutes, or a couple for $10.

I don't think prostitution is intrinsically degrading. If done right, it can be an incredible experience for both parties, if done wrong....

I don't think we should pay Gov to protect us from ourselves, that's what shrinks are for. There are plenty of real bad guys out there.

   

LOL I lived in Monclova for 2 years so I got you beat there. and I could get them for 20usd all night. Most times it was 2 for that price. I still don't want that in Canada.
