If you’re a man who smiles at women and makes an effort to be kind to them, you’re probably an “insidious” and “treacherous” sexist, according to a study conducted by researchers from Northeastern University in Boston. Seriously. After observing 27 people playing Trivial Pursuit, the researchers determined that these kind of behaviors — previously known as “chivalry” — were actually signs of what’s called “benevolent sexism.” In other words: Men who think that women deserve to be treated well often also think that women should be treated particularly well because they’re women. This, they explain, perpetuates gender inequality. Offering your jacket to a shivering women isn’t helping her — it’s hurting her by perpetuating the patriarchal idea that a woman is more likely to be cold than you are just because she’s a woman.
well in this fouled up world there are some twisted minds that think so.

It's not that I think she's more likely to be cold. I know she's cold because she is shivering!

I guess that giving her an orgasm is the worst kind of sexism too... if she wants one, she knows how to do it.

This is why I hate modern feminism. We've gone from sensible, kind of obvious, idea like equal voting and employment rights to bs like this.

I'll continue to try and be a gentleman to a lady and if she is so snarky that my cringe factor sets in well I respond appropriately.

I do this and I refuse to apologize to anyone for it.

I had a similar reaction back in University by some girl I was holding a door open for. She said (very indignantly) she could open her own door.
So I went through and pulled it closed behind me.

If anybody does something nice for you, you should just thank them and pass it on... the world would be a better place.
Ripped from the headlines of White Male Crybaby Magazine. This must be a follow-up to the article that complains about how in these crazy days a guy can't compliment his secretary on her nice tits anymore.
Yes, being a creep is sexist. How about you just stop being a creep instead of whining about it?
Sounds like some of you men might be shocked to learn that women don't enjoy having to go about their business with creepy men constantly trying to smile and wink at them all day long, leering and hovering around them, offering special attention that others (males, "fat chicks", "uggos" etc.) aren't receiving, and turning every minor social interaction into an awkward clueless one-sided flirtation session. That's not chivalry, it's creepy.
She's not interested in you, why don't you just clue in, take no for answer and fuck off already?
You're not a victim here. Get over yourself.

I hold doors open for women and men.....it's called being polite. A big old 'go fuck yourself' would be in order if someone took exception to this.

Your point is just as feminist as the article.

You, like the article, assumes that is what we do. Most don't. Never have.
And we don't appreciate being lumped in with the guys that do.
