It's pretty clear that the "I Nominate For a Medal" bit is generally unhealthy, causes strife, hurts people's feelings and it gives bullies of all stripes an excuse to flame others for whatever.
Like I said in Curt's thread; if you don't want a label, don't behave in a fashion that will get you labelled. If people are getting hurt feelings over these nominations, maybe they need a period of self reflection. Figure out if you are proud of yourself and who you are. If other people's reflection of you hurts your feelings, maybe you should consider changing who you are.
My feelings aren't hurt by anything that I have read on here today. I am genuinely saddened by it, though. None of this is healthy in any way for any of the participants. This is not the way that adults should conduct themselves. It really should stop now. Find a more positive way to talk about your fellow posters. If you treat people this way out n the real world, you are breaking real laws in the process.

I suspect that if one admits to being an active drug user they are probably benign. I'm glad that I am not one of those but at least, this one is being honest about it. Anyway, the point is that if you are going out of your way to cause another harm ... on here or anywhere else, you are bad news. Is this all that this forum is? Is this it?

I do not believe anyone should be held accountable for actions or statements on an anonymous internet forum, UNLESS it is of threatening nature or bullying.
Cyber bullying is a big issue (especially among teens, and I hope adults grow out of it), and should not be tolerated. Not on a public forum, not behind the scenes.
I assume, since you believe people should be held accountable for all they do and say on an anonymous forum, that when someone yells they do (illegal) drugs, you do what you have to do and go to the cops?

Which is their choice. This particular forum tho, and all posts, are anonymous.
There is no way that I am holding the few I know personally responsible for anything they say on here.
When I talk to them on the phone or have coffee or dinner with them, sure! But not on here.

Because I do not accept any kind of bullying.
What I am saying is that when someone is being an asshole to someone else on a forum, I will call them out on it. On that thread. Not on the next. Even if that is a personal friend of mine, it will stay on that thread, and will not be extended to real life.

Jabberwalker. Frankly, when someone says they are an active drug user, they should expect to be labeled as such. That said, the way this is all playing out is very childish indeed.. But it the childish posts were taken away, 90% of what is posted on this forum would be erased.
Oh, my, Shep and FOG weren't all that keen on that. Should we have an opioid user medal as well? Probably others here who use them as well. Or exactly what drug use calls for being labelled?
