I support Nate's for sure, but I question whether the Cadet Medal applies to former cadets. If so, give'em both the medal!

It should be the same for the Sodier medal - you're either a soldier or your not. There shouldn't be any nominations required and if you are no longer a cadet, well, you are not a cadet.

Kinda like the way we have soldier and veteran medals?

This is the description for the medal.
A person who is currently serving, or has served as a member of the Royal Canadian Air/Army/Sea Cadets.
Don't you think a Cadet Veteran medal is over doing it? I'm proud that I was a cadet, but it is still not the forces.

So the soldier medal applies to all current members of the armed forces, even if they are not soldiers?

Everyone that puts a uniform on in the CF is a soldier. Sure, some may be in the Navy or Air Force but they are all trained as soldiers before they are trained as tradesmen.
Yeah, a Cadet Veteran medal is overkill.

A generic cadet medal for cadets/ex-cadets is all that is needed in my opinion.
