I would just like to point out that yes I do support this medal. I do however think that the qualifications required for the medal should have to be actually displayed on Canadaka before being awarded. Par example, I could come on here and say, "I study such and such at university and am thus scholarly", but if I do not use such knowledge on the forum, than I would not qualify for the medal anyways.
Not that I'm a part of previous discussion in this thread, but just in the interest of being violent, *scalpes anyone rendered unconcious in the conflict*

a rare case: I COMPLETELY agree with Lily! 
although, it would be interesting to see, who would appear as a "deserved scholar" here...
Virgil made a good point: the usage of the knowledge on the forums would be more or less an evidence.
What I would change, is the vote system. Let's make a simple poll for each nomination and award/not award upon the result.
