CryBabyKM CryBabyKM:
Have any of you lived amongst the Native Canadians of the land in Canada?

I am curious since you know so much about them.

I live next to the Ojibwa, what do you need to know?

I also have caught some really big fish, used a "syndrome" as bait.

My daughter brought home her latest school project on Native Canadians. Since I have never lived in Canada or near Native Canadians, I thought I would research with her.

We went to Youtube and found this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFQbEMRm_jQ

Are the Six Nation People from Caledonia? Or are the Caledonians from Six Nation?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m74nyjEbxo4

Is Tony Merchant a Native Canadian or a Canadian?

As we surfed for more information, the two basic questions became so complicated. We soon found a few websites that featured forums like this one.

As my daughter surfed through all these comments, she told me,
"Daddy, I can't find any real information. All I find are people complaining about Native Canadians and their issues. The Canadians don't appear to have any issue except complaining about Native Canadian issues."

I told her to address that to her Social Studies teacher and let me know what the teacher said after school tomorrow.

I will keep you all posted.

I am all info'd right out, and the game starts in 2 hours. I have to go get some cheap pizza and low taxed beer for tonight!

Do any of you still watch the game even though your cities aren't competing?

Arctic_Menace @ Mon Jun 02, 2008 3:00 pm

No offense, but if you and your daughter can't find anything about Native Canadian issues, then you fail at the internet...

Instead of just trying to google "Native Canadian issues", try something more along the lines of "Canada's First Nations". There are numerous tribal websites with contact information you can easily get a hold of and actually get in touch with a real Native (OMG, WOW!) and they can talk to you about pretty much anything you want to know. Also, if you read through the news articles about Caledonia, the Oka Crisis, etc. you would then come to realize WHY the Natives are protesting.

Also, just find out about Canadian history, and perhaps then you will find out why the First Nations are less that hospitable to the government...

You can't just google "Native Canadian Issues" and expect the internet to do your job for you...

Schleihauf @ Mon Jun 02, 2008 3:00 pm

Of course we are still watching. Isn't it something like over 50% of hockey players are Canadian?

Anyways I don't believe in Native Canadians. They are just a figment of your imagination.

Hell yes. Hockey is hockey. Are you really that naive to assume that just because no Canadian teams are left, we all just stop watching hockey?

Here's an idea - stay off the Internet for research! You're going on about the accuracy of these issues and quoting "YouTube"?!?!? Maybe instead of trolling around CKA take your daughter to the LIBRARY and get some BOOKS instead of instilling sub-par approaches to research.

I live in The United States Of America.

I am one of the minorities myself in my country.

For I am an ice hockey fan.

I notice we have won The Stanley Cup for quite a few years now.

Does this add to the bigger fish syndrome?

Care to join us and become The United States Of America?

This way your country could start winning the cup again!

you won it with Canadian players.. gimme a break... then get lost!

First you start spewing off bullshit about MOST members on this site, then you try to put the best country in the world down, then you are talking about bigger fish syndrome, and now it is all your daughters fault?

I can see why people like Dr Phil make a shitload of money in the US

Most Canadian players who come to the US end up playing here, living here, retiring here. We got the cash. We will buy anything.

My daughter's assignment is hers. I work for a living and help direct her on how to go about her assignment. I don't make a habit to do my daughters homework for her.

Wow. So far you haven't even come cloe to answering basic questions at the start of this thread.

Brenda @ Mon Jun 02, 2008 3:44 pm

You haven't started to ask a decent question as of yet, so for me, you are still nothing but a fuckin troll.

How's your dignity doing?

Schleihauf @ Mon Jun 02, 2008 3:46 pm

You come here trolling and expect us to do your work for you?

This was your only semblance of a question that was vaguely close to making sense, the rest was an opinion.
"Have any of you lived amongst the Native Canadians of the land in Canada?"

Non-native Canadians can't live on reserves unless they are cohabitating with a native of that reserve. Statistics point to natives moving to the cities which would be considered off reserve, therefore your question should be the other way around.

As for your outlandish statement about Canadian hockey players..........you're full of crap and should produce some sort of statistical data to prove that whopper.
