How easy is Life in Canada and Finding a Job
Maybe you would like to visit here first and check things out for yourself and find a company that would hire you. But I don't think our process is that different than the United States. Isn't the Canadian dollar worth ten times that of the peso? So I guess what you would earn you could take home and get tens times that?

[B][fade]Hi everyone. I'm new to this forum and i was just wondering if anyone could tell me if it's easy to get a work permit once in canada. The thing is that i'd like to go to Canada soon and I'm Mexican myself. So i would go there as a tourist but what if I wanted to stay there and decided to work there for a few months. Oh and what would be the first place you think there wouldn't be any trouble if i decided to start working there. and one last thing, is it easy finding a job there? If you could please help me by replying to those questions i've made i would sincerely appreciate it. I'm thinking to move to toronto or ontario. thanks in advanced.
If you want an easy unskilled job, with a high pay, head to Alberta. But if your in the high tech, aeronautics, automobile, manufacturing, construction... well any skilled job head to Québec or Ontario.

You can find any type of work in the west. High skilled to high paying labour. We do have the lowest unemployment rates after all.

Not to mention hi-tech and construction. Ignorance is bliss.

Riiiight,an easy unskilled job,to even get into the patch expect to do about 2 weeks training for sour gas, confined spaces and about ten other tickets you will need before even stepping on a lease or ROW.I've seen a few mexicans working the rigs themselves, the pays good but the work is anything but easy and very dirty. You will pack about ten pounds of clay on each boot when it rains, and if you dont pull your weight expect to be run off in an instant. Attitudes like numures arent tolerated in the patch,it's no place for slackers or dogfuc*ers.
ryngo - the place to start ist he Canadian consulate or embassy in Mexico. Do NOT just arrive in Canada without having first arranged for a temporary work visa. A to where you wantr to go, as many above have pointed out there are many considerations that are purely for you to decide. If you want a milder climate the west coast is probably for you. Employment rates are good for the most part and skilled labour is always in short supply.
Interestingly because of many architectural renovations to historical building a good stonemason is almost never without well-paying work as are any of the more archaic building trades along with modern ones.
I wish you the best and again encourage you to visit thour embassy if you are in Mexico City or a consulate. They will help - that's what they're there for and we're a very welcoming country.

Not my fault if I went to University to get a 8 to 3 work shift and make a 6 digit salary.

Well I was thinking that too but there must be some plus with the exchange rates? Minimum wage in Mexico is 48 pesos a day I believe. About $5 Canadian is equal to that. Lets say you made $6 an hour here and worked for 8 hours a day that would be $48 or 480 pesos a day. Lots of people from Canada and the United States retire in Mexico because I think they get more bang for their buck there with their pensions so there must be some plus to the currency.
Canada Rocks! There more jobs that we have people to fill them.
Waaa waaa.. it's cold.. buy a f*Cking toque and scarf.
I have been to many places around the world. I have seen good and bad everywhere I've gone.
I have been to many parts of Asia, swam in warm tropical oceans, Picked Pinapple that grows naturally on the side of the road.. along with Banana's , papaya, coconuts.. etc..
I have also had a few run inns with rebel forces over there, and experiences hospital stays overseas.
Let me tell you, for all we bitch and moan about Canada, it is still by far the best place to live and raise a family. IMO.
I support anyone wanting to move to Canada to work. We need workers. One of the biggest setbacks in Canada is it's safety net, ( social assistance, Welfare ) which I admit is a necessary evil. But it is widely abused here in Canada and is the reason for our high taxes, and escalating crime rate...
Sorry for rant, but you really should see some other parts of the world before you start slamming Canada.
