My latest story is out in Black Ink Horror press. It's called "Like Romeo and Juliet." First story too!

It's a nasty piece of work, as you can probably gather by the cover of the magazine.

Unfortunately, I haven't been writing too much lately. I enjoy it, but the rejection/acceptance ratio is appealing only to masochists.

Kudos to you Zip. As the author do you get to pick the illustrator? [B-o]

R=UP

I have to agree with the rejection bit, but many famous authors had dozens of rejections, so keep your chin up.

No, but from what I've seen, they all look pretty good. I'm still waiting for my copy--hopefully the illustrations are as good as the cover!

Trying, buddy...trying. It's difficult.

My favourite book of all time, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, was rejected 121 times.

My latest story "Like Romeo and Juliet" is out in Black Ink Horror #6. This is a trade hardback publication with some great art work. But the stories, along with mine, are capital "T" Twisted. Ha ha ha.

Black Ink Horror

Fans of Blood Clot will recognize that the plot of the story is based on the Blood Clot ditty "Johnny and Mary."

I've actually quit writing for the time being. I've had 12 publications in the last 5 years. It's too much effort marketing the stories, which is probably another way of saying that my stories aren't quite good enough to get published in the top-tier markets!

Hi guys. My latest story is up on sci-fi webzine The Fifth Di.... It's actually a collaboration based on an idea by my friend Yo. "Unnatural Selection" muses on Darwinism and environmental degradation. One of the characters is a cow the size of a small town.

Have a read.

Cheers

Zip

Woohoo. Sold another story yesterday called "How Many Humans Does It Take to Change A Lightbulb?" to Cosmic Crime Stories, which should be coming out in print July 1. This is a story I almost sold to Analog (got a personal rejection from the editor to "send more stuff"). I'll flog this mercilessly when it comes out. This marks my 14th sale, I think.

In the meantime, if you need your literary Zipperfish fix right now, you can read my latest story in the current issue of The Fifth Di.... It's called Unnatural Selection.
