Corruption come from dishonest people in place of power. not from power itself.

corruption not only comes from power and greed, it can come from self entitlement. if you give a politician enough time to feel like he deserves his position then he will get smug and start to make decisions that are percieved as corrupt.

again a generalisation but at least you are half right.

corruption not only comes from power and greed, it can come from self entitlement.

true

if you give a politician enough time to feel like he deserves his position then he will get smug and start to make decisions that are percieved as corrupt

Opinion but not to much of a bad one.

Anyway right now we In Québec have a real problem. for example we are having a debate about the exploitation of shell gas. Shell gas in my opinion and in the opinion of many other of the silent majority can be exploited safely and fairly. But in order to do that we need a government we can trust to make the right decision. And nobody trust the PLQ in Québec!

most of western canada heats their homes with natural gas piped to the house, I notice that Nova Scotia still uses heating oil. whats Quebec do?

Elvis @ Sat Sep 25, 2010 1:28 pm

I can read fine, you just do not have any good come backs.

If the government has limit power then dishonest people can not abuse it.

"Face palm"

Unless you want to kiss civilization good bye we need government to be powerful and efficient enough for the greater good. A powerless government is useless. Right winger are great they have all those simple solution but they never really think them true.

Anyway we have the most corrupt government and we can thank our Quéfed for it.

Bigger face palm.....

You just need to realise that often people who seek power are often corrupt by nature. Most politicians (of all stripes) are power seekers, and, therefore will eventually display some measure of corruption.

I think Elvis has lost logical thinking. Partisanship is driving him. We are not even talking about federalists against separatists. Only that the more control the government has, the more chances there would be corruption. That's like... basic in political science. Logic and knowledge should drive an ideology, Elvis. Not partisanship.

Unsound @ Sun Sep 26, 2010 9:26 am

Not being a Quebec federalist I can't really answer for them, but I would suspect it's because the alternatives are even worse?

This week has just been awful. So much corruption allegation, Business man are now starting to talk, Liberal mayor are going down, etc... etc....

So if your feed up with all this and you happen to live in a riding with a liberal MNA then this site is for you.
