No guy I get where you are getting at

another pointless philosophical debate about the role and size of government and bla bla bla and more bla bla bla etc.........

Please Feel free to intellectually masturbate on this subject all you like.

The real question I want to ask on this forum is for Our dear Québec Fédéralist.

Do you not care? Why do you guy's keep electing such crook?

First, I didn't vote for Charest. Second, the corruption scandals were mostly uncovered after the elections. It's a majority government. We can't do anything until the next elections. There's no "recall" like in the States. Anyway, the alternative will be Pauline Marois, the woman who scrapped all the ministries she has been in control. Seriously, we are screwed for a LOT of times... I will most probably do like a lot of my friends and quit Quebec before it's too late.

Typical. Andrew Coyne said it right.

$1:
One other factor must be mentioned. Every society has its critics: successful ones thrive on them. But constructive criticism in Quebec, given the francophone majority’s perception of itself as an embattled minority, all too often leads to a closing of the ranks against what is invariably described as “Quebec-bashing.” If from outside, it is put down to ignorance of Quebec’s particularity; if from a non-francophone Quebecer, a failure to identify with the goals and values of the majority; if from a francophone, a traitorous readiness to advance on the backs of his fellows. One half expects to hear the same in this case.

Do you people realise that one of the major reasons for Quebec lagging economically is that the best and the brightest are leaving? Not because they hate Quebec, or french, but because they want a stable place to call home where they can get on with doing productive things.

Elvis @ Sat Nov 13, 2010 3:28 pm

You guy's are hilarious. Procu is not one of the best and brightest! He actually enjoy crapping on his fellow Quebecer. It make him feel superior, a bit like a true Canadian from the ROC.

Bodah Criticism this is not, this is something else. When I call Procu a (Colonized) it is not meant has an insult, it is a clinical diagnostic!

For example the French criticize there society, there government, union etc..... all the time. But they will never show disrespect for there own nation. Canadian also criticize there society, there government, union etc..... all the time but you guy's do NOT show disrespect for your own country, Because you guy's all love your country.

People from all around the world who suffer from the same affliction (having a colonized state of mind) all have the same symptom. There true country can never be good enough for them, They alway feel that there nation is inferior in almost every way. they have no pride. And the only way that they can feel good about themselves is by dissociating from there original nation. And if you look up Proculation post on this site you will see that this is a very strong trend for him and a few other Québec Fédéralist on this site.

This is just sad an this is why we are lacking behind in some field Bodah.

PS: Since Québec is the only state in all north America which barely feel the last recession I can say that the Québec model even if it is not perfect actually work quite well.

This is something to be proud of!

Proculation @ Sat Nov 13, 2010 5:24 pm

Yeah... a "model to be proud of"... A LOT of countries are following our "model"... A LOT !!

I can tell you that most of the poor countries didn't see the recession too. How can we go down if we are not up ? It's a so poor and demagogue 'explanation'. Twist the reality to make it fit how you want it to be, even if it's pure utopia. Typical of you.

And btw, you are projecting again. It's YOU who craps on your fellow Quebecers. You are actually crapping on a vast majority of them. Those who live in the real world.

I'm thinking if things are already bad, how much worse can they get? Driving on either the south shore or the north shore to get to St Jean sur Richeleau from Ontario, I seen lots of cars, boats, quads etc for sale on those folks front lawns.

I was rather surprised at the shear volume of items for sale but I guess in the strong Quebec economic climate you have already upgraded your toys and are now disposing of the old ones, eh?

Elvis @ Sat Nov 13, 2010 7:09 pm

Just hope your feeling better now.

PimpBrewski123 @ Sat Nov 13, 2010 9:00 pm

An ironic sort of thing. Many PQ members leave the party, oh let's say, Legault, Facal. So much bickering at the Parti Quebecois, yet your friends in the media do not mention anything and often leave this out. The PQ has no platform other than sovereignty and nothing else.

Ok, there is a right wing movement in the province of Quebec. Good ! The ''gauchistes'' have manipulated the populace. Unions ''syndicats'' have had their place for too long. Journalism in the province is a complete joke, enough said.

And a special thank to the English community in Montreal who will vote in the most corrupt and inept politician just because he is a Liberal.

.

As English Quebecer's make up only 8% of Quebecs voting power i'd look to other factors as to why the Liberals stay in power in Quebec..
