Do you know how much you get back through equalization payments? And if you knew anything about that your getting a lot more then 35 billion in equalization payments.

... and the Majority trying to impose itself on the minority.
But I thought you said Canada was not a democracy? Did you finally look that word up?
The only time Canada is a democracy when it comes to referendums in relation to Quebec. The 1982 was pushed on Canada. A party who holds the majority of the seats controls the judiciary and puts through any legislation it wants. Canada lacks the checks and balances of a true democracy.

Whoever heard of a party drafting and implementing the very legislation they wrote. That party sets up all commitees reviewing that legislation. You get the picture.

Canada's Democracy is further watered down because demographics of the Area determines who get's elected. They in turn push their agenda. What we end up having is a parliament that accomplishes very little.

So please Dr. Caleb don't insult the people of Canada by calling Canada a democracy. It is nothing but a power grab so they can line their political supporters pockets once they gain power. Look no further than the Liberals for proof of that.

When harper gets in, he will do the same. The best thing Canada can do is make sure no party gets a majority. That is the only time Canada is a democracy, Jack layton's deal is proof

He invests it somewhere that is of no interest to you or wastes it/spends it for duplication of work done by you, and then he returns you some of it for your basic needs. And he is getting stingier every year
You, on the other hand, know what your needs are. You want your full paycheque. Maybe you want to start a business and so you will need that money towards that goal. Maybe you have needs that your father considers useless, so he won't give you money for it. Problem is, daddy always tells you he knows what is best for you.

You would be justified to tell daddy to shove it, wouldn't you?

Same with Quebec. We say enough of that paternalistic attitude. We want to make our own decisions with our own money, and everybody on this planet other than the ROC will agree with that.

Moreover, a study released today that I posted on another thread clearly indicates that QUEBEC WOULD BE A RICH COUNTRY INSTEAD OF A POOR PROVINCE if it left Canada.

So, it's more than time to go.

Independent Quebec would have billions, PQ says

Thursday, May 5, 2005 Updated at 1:49 PM EDT

Canadian Press

An independent Quebec would be swimming in cash after taking over federal taxing powers and reducing duplication in government services, says a plan presented Thursday by the Parti Quebecois.

If the province became sovereign, Quebec would re-create its own version of the recent massive surpluses of the federal government and would have full control over how the money is spent, PQ Leader Bernard Landry said.

“For most people, the decision to support sovereignty is a combination of the heart and reason,” Mr. Landry told reporters after the plan was unveiled.

“A sovereign Quebec would be in a much better situation than the province of Quebec.”

The study, drafted by PQ finance critic Francois Legault, says Quebec would have $1.3-billion in extra money in 2005-06 after taking over its share of federal taxes and spending. The amount would grow to $13.8-billion by 2010.

The money would not necessarily translate into a surplus because Quebeckers would still have to decide whether to spend it on a variety of new responsibilities, like buying new army equipment or setting up foreign missions.

The plan presumes successful negotiations with Canada and uses simple calculations to establish Quebec's spending in areas currently run by the federal government.
That link represents countries that don't defend themselves but have other countries pledge defense. We are suppose to be in a free world where the people have the freedom of Self determination. You stole our Canada but now you are trying to steal our Canadian identity, but thanks to George Washington we the true Canadians have been forever immoratalized in truth. Canada has become a laughing stock to the world. I assure you that in every coffee shop across Europe they are laughing at Canada with its hypocrisy. 1759 Plains of Abrahams the Canadians lost and fell under British Rule. We are marching towards liberation. Call yourself Canadian, but that does not make it any more valid than calling yourself First Nations.

Sovereignty by Association will be the only binding force that will keep this illusion, facade of Canada from Crumbling to dust.

History is coming out and with it the truth.
