Jeez I would think you could see Manitoba from there.compared to where I am from originally 3 people are a crowd .my sister thinks that I am nuts when I go back home in the fall cause I take my lawn chair and a case of Lethebridge pilsner go into the middle of a field and stare at absolutely nothing I love it. I do agree that
vvancouver is nowhere near as crowded as most U.S cities or cities back east .
being from Alberta I have plenty of mountains to look at and generally don't have to fight crowds to see them. For pure beauty and crowdless views, you can't beat the Yukon IMHO.
Fantastic people (that are generally from elsewhere), lovely weather (summertime, haven't been there in the winter), outdoor adventure heaven.
Have visited 3 times and can't wait to go back.
I've heard that the Yukon and the territories are beautiful too, each unique in their own way.
Anyways, Manitoba has lots of beautiful spots, and is even more untouched than BC, Alberta, Ontario...
I've been to the Whiteshell Provincial Park many times and its wonderful. I'll see about scanning some good pictures if i can find em.
Speaking of Saskatchewan, you know what I can't STAND about being too far north (Like Buffalo Narrows, for example...). That god awful, "The Saskatchewan Aboriginal Station". That is by far, the worst radio station have ever had to listen to in my life...lawnmower music, bagpipes, screeching seagull*relaxation music*....and the worst part is, it's the only station you can get because everything else is waaaay too far away...
At the hundreth meridian, at the hundreth meridian, at the hundreth meridian, where the great plains begin!
-The Tragically Hip.
that song is awsome! one of the best. The Hip are a true Canadian band, because they write songs about Canada.
I almost fell for this one...
I fall for every single one of these damn things and finally I didn't bite the damn bait,
Saskatchewan is a beautiful province,I love it in the fall there all the wheat fields are so awesome to look at.You can see where you are going there too.Northern Sask has tons of trees and lakes as does Cypress hills. Are those hills called Coolies? I forget the name they are cool to look at though.
The Cyress Hills are the highest points in canada east of the Rockies and are quite scenic. Drives up north in Saskatchewan and Manitoba are usually quite boring. Highway and trees, with the occassional lake. The drive from Winnipeg to Thompson is quite boring, all there is to do on that one is count roadkill and the patches on the pavement (yes Ziggy, Thompson is connected by highways to the rest of the world, seeing as there almost 14 000 people there).
couldn't build roads there and if the weather gets warmer, the rail will be in serious peril
I have lived and worked in both Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
Winnipeg? So Very beautiful. Easy to get around. Algonquin Park. The Red & Assinaboin rivers. Lived in River Heights in a tipsy house that shifted every year and loved every minute of it.
Saskatchewan was my favorite though. The friendliness of the people there is unbelievable! Wascana park; thunderstorms are awesome. People huddled together at the bus stops to keep warm when its 45 below.
People dont know what they are missing if they don't visit these two fantastic provinces.
