Because they know full well the Arab countries won't take them.
A 10 second look at the Egyptian Gazans and West Bank Jordanians is enough.
Lots of them trying to get into Europe as well, they should all be turned back.
Let the Arabs deal with their own problems for a change.
At least the Swiss are smart enough to recognize 90% of their 'refugees'

As for barring certin people, in this case muslims, could you not do something like this? We reserve the right not to allow people from countries that have shown a history of violence when they immigrate into western societies. Then produce a list of countries that mysteriously has a majority of muslims in them.
This might solve the problem without pointing to their religon as the reason for not allowing them in.

I was supprised that the Swiss did what they did and am thinking more Western countries will follow along the same lines if not even more strick.

So now you are claiming a Canadian Culture? What happened to your DUTCH culture that you used when talking to N_Fiddledog on page 17 of this thread. For i'm sure he still claims and will as long as he lives in Canada to be of Canadian culture.

I'll go opposite to what everybody else is saying... I don't really mind if they don't assimilate... there's only one thing they must accept when they come here, that they will be treated like every other Canadian... that is, no special laws, considerations and accommodations.

And that is very rational yet at the same time if these same people have been raised in a society that teaches hate to the west and as a society has shown repeated acts of hostility would you actualy trust them to even ahere to your rational request?

as for the link/stats you posted what exactly is the point behind them? You said/asked exactly how many refugees we are talking about and it comes to currently 22k per year. And the point of that is?

No no, how many MUSLIM refugees are we talking about, and how many actually assimilated fine and how many stir shit? Have you heard of groups of Kosovars or Iranians who cause problems?

Wouldn't any refugee have that problem tho, of being raised in an unsafe society?
I'm thinking child soldiers and all that. Fleeing from violence, oppressed by their government...
If you look at the CIC link, all those refugees come from war-torn countries.

They gave no specific number to how many were muslim outside of the ones you have here. Um yeah the Iranians have very offten gone around burning flags of the US and England. They have been shown to support terroist groups. During the blakan wars all sides commited attrosities includeing muslims from Kosovo. But then I must assume you mean the refugees. Then my answer must be no except for what ever ones have gotten into "normal" trouble with the law. Normal being robbery, theft, traffic tickets. I would assume they would run on par with any other group in Canada. As for me not wanting immigrants please ohhhh please go back to page 17 and reread what was being talked about and what I put in. And YES I STILL STAND BY MY STATEMENT. Why even take the risk of letting people in who have been raised in a society that brings people up to hate the west. Oh and sense you probably wont go back and look my post about how to keep muslims out by showing that the contires they come from have a high degree of hostility of the west was in response to your saying that you can not keep people of the Islamic faith out because it would be discrimination.
