Those punks piss me off so much . These asswhipes should be publicly beat to within microns of there life, it may be severe, but to turn the other cheek and be the "bigger man" aint gona cut it, the judicial system will do nothing, they wont "learn" anything an do it again, what next home invasion?

As to the military patroling, why not, heck declare the evacuated area a military zone and let the punks go to military prison if found in the area

The difference here is that most Canadians who own guns (out west anyway) own them for reasonable purposes. Hunting and subsistance reasons.

Almost every household in my town has a gun, mostly because our house pests stand about 13' tall and way over 1000 lbs.

Yup no doubt. I'm a farm boy from sask. We had guns for cyotes, skunks, whatever. It's the using them on PEOPLE part that sounds American to me

Ever had to kill one personally? No. I have on many occassions had to scare them off, I have been a part of live captures and deterring the bears. I work for the National Park up here as well as having at one been been a driver for one of the bear viewing companies. I have tons of experience with the white buggers.

Been alot of bears around all summer, the ice broke on the bay strange this year.

Best time though is mid-October through mid-November.

I also remember "Andrew", RH. Called the sherriff's dept., forget the county, to see if we could help in a small way. The "bell atlantic" operator on the phone was very helpfull directing me to the Sherriff's dept. I waited a couple of days after the fact because I knew they were busy. The cop I talked to told me socks were a priority! We bought a hundred bucks worth of socks & sent them down fed-ex. On Sept. 11, 2001, a day in hell I'll never forget, we drove & donated blood in N.Y. state, and because of the recovery effort & the steel company I worked for, I organized several boxes of work/welding gloves to be sent to N.Y.C. Now its Kelowna. I'll be going by an Ottawa fire dept. station sat. morning, already called earlier this week to arrange donating a couple of bucks for the effort. Don't think I'm blowing my own horn here, hell, fuck with me on a saturday night, I'll beat you up & run you over a couple of times (not you RH), but man, its our duty! Its NOT a t.v. show. But its easy to help when its not happening to you. I came up to Ottawa during the ice-storm of '97 and saw hydro companies from NY,PA,NH,VT,MA, & states I can't remember. We're all in it together, we all love our kids, American or Canadian. Looters, show me one!!!

Well blubs, I didn't write that post for hero biscuits, & I'm sure to piss you and many others off in future, trust me. But I don't see the United States as some evil monster we see on CBC. I see the U.S. as people trying to do the best they can with what they have. I've helped a neighbor work on his car, I've had help from neighbors when I had to move. There are neighborhoods in cities I've lived in that you can be fucked-up in real quick. Canada included! My children, one-on-the-way, live in the U.S. right now, but work & personal reasons keep me in the Ottawa, ON area right now. It pisses me off how anti-American some (many) Canadians are, because they only see the surface. I remember coming back from N.Y. state, not city, after Sept.11. I was up for four days, almost straight! My brother, who had a room-mate from Buffalo, N.Y. in Ottawa, who I didn't really get along with, found out what I was up too. He said he thought it was pretty "righteous" what I did. It was the FIRST time it entered my mind! That wasn't the point. Later, I thought, knowing Americans, there would probably be some guy somwhere, who likes Harley's, nice sound systems, drinks too much, and blows way too much money in strip-bars somewhere who probably would have done the same for Canada, but we'll never hear or know about it! Thats what I like to think. So, stay cool blubs, and keep an eye out, you ARE you're fellow man. Thanks for the post! Horses ass? Guilty! LOL bro.

It is rather funny really I thought I was anti American till I joined cka .In a small way I still am .But I now realize it is not the people I cant stand it is the government of the states..Canada kicks ass really has made me look at the inside of the person rather than the outside.Actually Absolute Iron mike has been a big factor in turning my thoughts around to the Americans.I do not agree with the war in Irag but that is the govt it wasnt the people.

Not to be cynical, and down on Canadians, but here is where I think youall will agree. The Canadian way is not to shoot them, it is to lock them up for 25 years, let them have rights, send them GST cheques, and let them out after they have served 3 years because of good behavior.

In my opinion, these looters should be locked up and throw away the key!!

They are nott only looting the evacuees house, they have also be stealing fom those who have been put on alert. The ones who have everything important loaded in the back of their car or truck..That is really sick, because that is the stuff that is really important, the things that cannot be replaced!!
