Northern Saskatchewan

yeah that's the real world.
I have a cousin that teaches in a public school in Toronto, she's probably ran out of fingers and toes and the year just started.
Yeah, it's the real world. Few teachers were able to survive here if they carried their white, middle class ideas about the world with them. Perhaps your coz needs to reevaluate how she approaches the students.

Yep kids are dumb as rocks and tell the teachers to go fuck themselves daily. Good job liberals you should be proud.
I taught for 30 years in a tough school in Northern Saskatchewan. I can count on one hand the number of times I was told to "go fuck " myself. Lets see, 197 days times 30---ah! well I taught math but hated it.

Thank you. I assume you were not allowed to use calculators until you got to higher levels of math.

I still didn't use them. Calculus and more advanced Data was the only time I used a calculator. I did Data Management faster with no calculator that people with one.

Basic math skills will never hurt anyone. One of my complaints came from watching grade 10 math students use a calculator to add 17 + 3. The other big problem was not having any idea of what kind of answer they should get. They have to do a problem requiring multiplying 6.54 x 74 and miss their decimal point but just write down 48 396. The calculator told them, so it must be right. Oh well! I don't teach any more. But good on you. Keep it up.
