Nobody is defending any priests you dipshit. Why do you and filthy lying kind always feel the need to make these kind of false accusations whenever someone challenges your partisan bullshit?

   

In this case it is the religion because the hierarchical system that runs it demands blind obedience and that facilitates abuse.

We're just discussing sexual abuse yet the reality is that no end of abuse goes on in the RCC. This is the one that we're paying attention to right now.

And my tl;dr comment on the RCC's way of filtering out religious conservatives in their seminaries has a flip side that, intentional or not, they're selecting pedophiles and pederasts to work as clergy.

   

Not a faggot problem either because statistically it's pretty much a 50-50 gender split of the victims. Some pedos are all - girl. Others are all-boy. A few prey on both. Pedos are rather unique monsters that have no real corresponding equivalent to consenting adult orientations.

   

The split on underage victims in the RCC is 80% boys and 20% girls. If it's 50/50 in the real world (a stat I've never seen but will accept for the point of discussion) then my argument that the experience in the RCC is anomalous and is likely driven by a perverted vetting process that selects male-preference sexual predators makes sense.

Edit: I've heard zero claims of adult homosexual assault/rape in the RCC. That would tend to assert Ray's POV.

   

There's always been a lot of closeted gay men in the priesthood. Whether or not that translates directly into predatory attacks on children should be examined more closely. I'm not sure it's wise to take the weirdness/perversity that occurs in places with zero female presence in them (seminaries, monasteries, prisons, university fraternity houses, boys schools in Britain, certain military sectors at certain historical times, etc.) and compare it to society at large. Andrew Sullivan, for example, is gay and a Catholic. He is of the firm belief that purging institutions of female presence and input is what leads to things like the Church pedophile scandals because his view is that the lack of a female moderating presence, because in his view the vast majority of men won't act like monsters around women, leads too many all-male groups to epidemics of everything from lethal bullying to pedophile rackets. Food for thought anyway.

   

Also, you always hear about altar boys, etc. I'm not hip on the catholic church, but it sounds like there's a lot more boys in various positions in the church than girls. So some of it is just opportunity, maybe, rather than strict sexual preference.

Whatever, seems like a poor idea to make the average guy who wants to serve the church be celibate. They should leave that to the monks, where any farking about is limited to other adults.

   

Well, if they're deliberately excluding the kinds of devout, religious conservatives who are best suited to a life of sexual deprivation then it would follow that they're then selecting irreligious liberals who are sexual libertines.

Why would a sexual libertine want to pursue a commission as a celibate priest unless that commission is going to facilitate access to potential victims?

In any case, this kind of crap will be the death of the RCC in America at least until an African Pope comes in and purges the clergy of heretics and deviants.

   

Less a libertine thing than that, over time, gay men would find more safety in numbers inside the Church with each other than they would find in the usual homosexual-hating general society. Not every gay dude is a psycho perv orgiast either, any more than all straight men are ready at any given moment to shed all their morals at the opportunity to get laid.

I suspect that the pedo problem began when the real degenerates knew they could take advantage of the lack of women in the Church. Most women go nuts at the thought of children being harmed. A place like a church where females are turned into powerless and voiceless second-class objects, servants at best, would be a prime hunting ground for a pedo.

   

In the Spotlight movie, they mention that most pedophile priests were equally attracted to boys and girls, but boys were targeted more not just because there was more opportunity to be alone with boys but also because boys were less likely to talk due to anti-gay shaming.
