Watching Passion of The Christ....

Now consider, what if your wrong? Neither of us can prove our belief right, but are you willing to accept the ultimate consequences if your wrong? Knowing you missed out on a relationship with God, and you don't get to have eternal peace?
If I am wrong, then I guess its nothing, now if your wrong........
The world is coming to an end tomorrow if you don't deactivate your Canadaka account immediately.
If I'm wrong, it's just your account. If I'm right, though..... UH OH
Religion is just a way to control people...nothing more.
I remember watching this movie...
I was told it was funny. Same guy told me that Brokeback Mountain was a comedy.
I'm never watching a movie he tells me to watch again...
So basically, I spent about 2 hours of my life staring at these dudes speaking in Latin... Iw as covered in fucking cheezies and was falling asleep...
I guess that was the test if I was religious,. I didn't feel anything. lol

Agreed.
the church is run by people who are not perfect and who are capable of sin.
God is not controlling.
If God wanted to control people he could.
God gave us free will, and choice... how is that controlling?
Plus religion can't control people, nobody can impose anything on the mind.
I think we are a decline in religion - a natural decline, increased atheism and secularism, but it doesn't fret me, not at all. Like all things their will be a natural uprise in belief an theism in the future.

Humanity does have free will and intelligence and a need to have things explained.
Thats why we invented the idea of god(s) to begin with. To try and explain that which we could not.
We have science now. We no longer believe the sun is a firery chariot being driven across the sky.

What always irked me was being told as a child that the only place I can "talk" to God is at a church, basically a building. The doors are locked though so there are only "certain" times of the day you are "allowed" to speak to the "Creator of the Whole Universe". People complaining of not having anything nice to wear to church so they can not go to services that day? Or no money to give so they have to stay home again Lol. I have met some wonderful people who are Ministers one of my friends is a Minister, but I do not really talk to her that often anymore...

I hope it doesn't make me anti-semitic.
I hope you're more sophisticated than to have your opinions shaped by a movie.
I think they should add elements of Jesus Christ-Superstar to passion of the Christ, Broadway needs another Jesus themed musical.
I was in the pitband in a production of Superstar and it is by far my favourite musical (Operetta). Hearing the song "Gethsemane" (along with the rest) is a lot more effective to me than watching the shit being beat out of somebody. If I have any sympathy for the story, it's due to Superstar.
Plus I had a kick-ass part
Judas' death was another one that would give me chills every night. I like the fact that he isn't simply cast as an awful betrayer - he and Jesus are portrayed as both victims and players in the whole affair.

So is most every system devised by man, what's your point? Would you prefer total anarchy to any kind of system requiring order and structure? Why not tear down governments, hospitals, schools, roads, anything that may control people, just get rid of it. Why stop with people and institutions? I'm tired of all this gravity trying to keep me down, let's figure out a way of getting rid of that too. Let's just get rid of it all, I'm sure the world will be a much better place after all that is gone.

Would you prefer total anarchy...
Some people
do want anarchy and they consistently and consciously work towards that goal.
The anarchist movement is very real and is older than Communism.
