neat but I have to admit it worries me a little that it could easily be confused with a normal 12 gage shell. That and what is the perp going to think when he sees an officer firing a 12 gage shotgun at him?
Watch this vid on the 'taser shockwave'. It's a rather jolly bit of kit.

It would be fired from a less then lethal shotgun and my understanding is that those shotguns are all marked, besides when it comes down to it maybe the sight of the shotgun alone will cause the individual to surrender. A friend of mine is a police officer in Texas and while I was down there he mentioned to me about this round and showed me this video.
I cant remember what show it was, maybe Future Weapons?, but they were testing it on one guy...looked damn painful.

He's going to think "Maybe I shouldn't have been perping!!"
i don't know if I agree with cops having these type weapons. All experiences point to over use and dangerous outcomes.
How many people have died at the hands of police officers using tazers?
They are given these things and told they are harmless.. if your subject isn't obeying you, give em a zap... that'll teach em.

And yet another educated and informed view.
This is great.. The cops don't even need to get out of their cars now.
Seriously.. this is a good idea and a hell of a lot safer than most other non-lethal tools.

Hate to say, I'm a reserve LEO and I agree with what he said. Because the taser and pepper spray are less-than-lethal there's a much higher incidence of cops using them in questionable situations than with firearms.
I cannot even begin to tell you of the endless number of people who have been tazed or pepper sprayed while cuffed and even fully restrained as in a restraint chair. There's no excuse for this kind of abuse yet it gets a pass way too often.
Did anyone else notice in the computer simulation (about 1:53) that the projectile hits the prep in the nuts?
Talk about adding injury to insult!

Bart, it's much more of a problem in the US than Canada, and much more of a problem (historically) in RCMP jurisdictions than in Ontario.
Having to teach the people how to use the tools is still better than not having the tools in the first place.
And you got it RR, it's all down to training and accountability.
