Annexation of Canada to the USA, in our lifetime.
You are blinding yourself by making this an American Canadian boxing match...It is more of an issue regarding corporate control of governments and thus the people...This current financial situation could of been intentionally set in motion decades ago to crash the financial system.
If and when the U.S. dollar is deemed worthless there will have to be a new currency, such as in a north American dollar. This has been put into play years ago with the S.P.P...
And if every one is scared into believing that they will be bankrupt if they do not go along with this idea of a north American union this will allow for more control of the people.. Kind of like the the rights that have been stripped from the Americans with the patriot act. Keep the people scared and they will ask for more protection, which is actually just making them more of a prisoner of their government..
A scenario of these 2 countries coming together would not be by force but by the will of the people as a result of the situation that the government has put them in....

How fortunate for us that you are also capable of displaying an adroitness in economics. It seems your potential is limitless.
Its as limitless as your vocabulary...You must be the town crier..

Annexation does not suggest this as a result of choice. That would be unification.

Nope.

No, I'm suggesting that more right-wing supporters tend to already own firearms with which they could potentially defend themselves and left-wing supporters tend to be more pacifist and don't have the means to defend themselves.
Also, this right-winger has no desire to become part of the US, even though I do admire them.
Just to play Devil's advocate, I would bomb the shit out of any area which has armed, hostile, civilians..

You are definitely an anomaly, you are the reason I put the words "tend to be more" and not "are more".

I see you haven't discarded your tinfoil yet, The U.S. dollar is already worthless. Guess what? That is in history as well, every depression America and Canada faces. We get through it. We have never forced to join unions because of our economy and never will.
Canada would not be idiotic enough to do a union with America either, Canada is suffering just like anybody else but it's doing fine atm and will do better than America will. America is going to go through really tough problems and the American government is only worsening there problems.
You really think the Canadian government would hand over Canada and adopt your debt and problems? Dude, come back to common sense.
Canadian's will not adopt the NAU based on the economic situation, unless they are for sure that the Canadian dollar will not go anywhere and need a new currency that would. However the Canadian dollar will rise up from this situation as will the American dollar. Majority have Canadian's would not give in to a NAU and neither would Americans.

Referring to the great depression, that was during an industrial revolution and war which offered countless jobs and plus the money borrowed at that time was from the American people by way of U.S. bonds which when payed back will eventually go back to the American people. Unlike now where money is borrowed from other countries like China and Saudi Arabia which when paid leaves the country with interest..
The U.S. dollar is already worthless, they have borrowed trillions from their future, they are trillions in debt to other countries and they are going to print trillions more. But you see the dollar rising again in the future..
Yes things are going to be alright, I didn't see it your way.

I really feel we should ignore these threads. Like Ride said, probably a student looking for information for his paper due Friday.

In WW11 Germany was able to take the Balkans, and much of Eastern Europe. They
controlled the cities in many cases, but the underground kept their freedom alive.
Yugoslavia ruled a group of nations for decades, as a country of compromise and
today, the nations have regained their rightful place on the world map
Canada would be no different, we would struggle on for dacades but eventually,
it would be a case of a country not big enough to occupy or control.
To be honest, I can't believe that anyone from the USA would be coming to a Pro-Canadian web forum to push for the Annexation of Canada to the USA.
They can't even keep their own shit in order south of the border, nor does America even have the resolve to continue to fight a war in Iraq.
Why would anyone in their right mind be suggesting the Annexation of Canada, a war they couldn't afford much less win.
You can't win in Iraq or Afghanistan, what makes you think Canada would be easier.
Canada and the USA have always been two countries with many commonalities, "Children-of-a-Common-Mother" - why spoil a good thing? ...and to what end, you already get most of our resources now without a fight.

p.s. yes you know I am personally a little pro-American from living south of the border for 20 years of my life, but I would never wish to see Canada as part of the United States.
