Always the grammar. The best shot there is i suppose. So following your line of logic if the Americans need oil rather then buy use your military to steal it and then the differance between them and say the The Third Reich is? So the Americans rather then relying on hard work and smarts as they have in the past should become thieves. That is control?
Most of the stats I have read have placed the US behind those whiny losers in western europe in terms of standard of living. Check it out. If you get sick they don't check your credit rating on the ay to the hospital either. Are you serious canuck or is this a joke.
Cheers
fred

America will do whatever is necessary to provide her citizens with the energy they need. That is indeed control.

I disagree. There is very little economic freedom in western Europe. That is not where you would want to start or own a business, because they are regulated and taxed to death.

What you call control others would call unjust wars of conquest which americans have fought in the past. Perhaps you've been reading a little george Lincoln Rockwell?

That's the line I constantly hear people down here spout to describe Canada. Did you know that Canada is rated the best (as in cheapest) place to do business of all the industrialized nations? That includes the US. There's a lot more than taxes that weigh into it. I do remember, by the way, that the US didn't even come in second... I just don't remember who did, sorry.

Lawsuits in America do way more damage than taxes in Canada ever could. (that's my theory anyway.)

Could someone please tell me what the average premium is for health insurance for a family of four in the United States?

Gonzo Gonzo:
Did anyone watch the CBC documentary on right wing media in the States? It's out of hand. Fox news is not news at all, but a propoganda machine for the Bush administration. The way Bill O'Reilly rips into people and doesn't listen to reason. The man is an idiot. But the danger is people think that it's fact (O'Reilly made up a report that the French economy was suffering because America was punishing them when in fact Frances' economy has grown since oposing the war). I couldn't live in a country like that. Canada is getting dangerously close to America's sad state with major companies owning all the media outlets here. It reminds me of Nazi propoganda, brainwashing people to blindly support the administration. How many Americans think that Sadam had a part in the 9/11 attacks? How many Americans hate the French? It's terrible. Thank God for people like Michael Moore and Al Franklin, shaking the radical right wingers up.
sir you are an idiot!the cbc should do a doc on it being a left leaning piece of trash!smoke some more gonzo i mean dumbo!

i guess you like half your income to go to taxes!well im a real canadian and why should i have to pay for someone elses sickness!

PJB @ Tue Mar 29, 2005 4:16 pm

poopy...Would you rather have to fork over 25000+ for a hospital related illness? My taxes pay for a helluva lot of things that I do not agree with but I would rather have the feeloing of assurance that if I have an unfortunate accident that requires a hospital stay that I will come out with my life savings still intact and a home to go to.

btw..You don't have to pay for someone else's illness. Just don't pay your taxes, go to jail and let the rest of us pay for you!

I am liberal on a lot of my views. I watch O'Riley to try to get both side of an issue. It really pisses me off when a liberal can not or will not answer a direct question with out a lot of spin. It appears that they are lieing when they try to twist the question to fit their answer. This happens alot on Hannity and Combs as well. I think this diminishes the lefts credability and they lose at of opportunity to present some good ideas.

I wouldn't blindly trust CBC and treat them as an unbiased news source. They aren't, if you want the left wing point of view, which alot of Canadians do want, then they provide pretty good news coverage for you. What I mean to say is when liberals watch and believe every ounce of evidence and information that the CBC gives them without questioning it, it's the exact same thing as when conservatives watch Fox News and believe that whole heartedly. I like to be relatively central when it comes to the news, though I tend to be much more liberal with my views. I do however think it's disgusting that many people use "liberal" as an insult.

Ann Coulter has loud oppinions and it has gotten her quoted, very famous, and very rich. I did however like the three minute clip of the discussion on Canada's participation in Vietnam, found it kind of funny.

I didn't much like how CBC brought up the stalking and sexual assault charges against Rachel Marsden and Bill O'Reilly, I found it to be irrelevent to the point that the documentary was trying to prove, it was just a little bit of unnecessary information trying to discredit them further.

Medicare is like $40 a month and I'm not even sure what that covers...

My medical insurance is like $70 a month. However, my employer is paying like 80% of that. So if they wouldn't pay it, it would run me like $350 a month. That's as a single guy (well not married).

Now if it's for you and your wife and she doesn't have her own works coverage, my company doens't pay for hers. So it would be like your $70 + her $350 = $420 a month. If your company doesn't pay 80%, then again, like $700 a month for couple ( and might be around the same for family).

Keep in mind that these are the premiums.. You still have other charges... It's now like $15 for prescriptions and doc visit and $75 for trip to the ER.... but until recently it was:

$15-$35 for prescriptions
$15 for doc visit
$35 for walk-in clinic
$100 for ER
and like $500 a night in hospital up to $1500 then insurance pays the rest

That's as far as I know around here in Tampa. I also have a personal injury protection plan that covers anything my medical insurance would not and 80% of lost wages.
