Did anyone watch the CBC documentary on right wing media in the States? It's out of hand. Fox news is not news at all, but a propoganda machine for the Bush administration. The way Bill O'Reilly rips into people and doesn't listen to reason. The man is an idiot. But the danger is people think that it's fact (O'Reilly made up a report that the French economy was suffering because America was punishing them when in fact Frances' economy has grown since oposing the war). I couldn't live in a country like that. Canada is getting dangerously close to America's sad state with major companies owning all the media outlets here. It reminds me of Nazi propoganda, brainwashing people to blindly support the administration. How many Americans think that Sadam had a part in the 9/11 attacks? How many Americans hate the French? It's terrible. Thank God for people like Michael Moore and Al Franklin, shaking the radical right wingers up.
I did not see it but i know where your coming from, and i agree. I am also a huge Al Franken fan, i like his show on Air America radio.
The way Billy O'Reilly ripped into that kid who lost his dad at the WTC was disgusting. If I was the kid I would have beaten Billy O with my chair. Then there's Annie Coulter claiming that Canada sent troops to Vietnam. What a cunning stunt.
The thing keeping Canada from becming that ridiculously fucked up is the CBC. That's why the radical right hates them so much.
I totally agree. I used to enjoy the comedy of that guy from SNL who did the news reports, but since he joined the right-wing cult and became a talk show host I don't even bother to check what the shows are about.
But its in the best intrests of the rich to keep the masses brainwashed and otherwise occupied. If Americans knew the reality of how free they ARE NOT then I'm sure the power structure would be in jepordy.
Don't even bother repeating his name, he's not worth the pixels.
I don't have the CBC, but I've seen "outfoxed" which probably has most of the same stuff. I think that Fox News is more of a Republican right wing point of view reinforcer and a mouthpiece for the Bush adminstration. What I notice is anytime I turn it to that channel, they will usually have 2 people on who are suppose to show the 2 different point of views, normally the negative one of Bush, and the positive one of the Bush. The host on that show barely EVER question anything that the positive Bush supporters say, and always come back with a counter point putting down what the people who say anything negative about Bush say. CNN or News world international are my stations of choice. In the US, either you are some stupid republican who can't notice the bias of Fox and love the channel, or you hate Fox News and mainly watch to piss yourself off. I still remember when Bill Oreilly was talking about how Americans who don't get behind the president during the Iraq war invasion aren't American and are traitors(I think it was something like that if my mind remembers right). Hopefully the CBC doesn't paint it like ALL Americans watch Fox News and listen to the channel. Fox News sucks.

A little taste of what Maddox has to say about O'Reilly. www.maddox.xmission.com
People like O'Reilly, Coulter and Tucker "bow tie" Carlson are just trolls, they appeal to the extreme right, which unfortunatly makes up a good chunk of the Yankee to the south of us.
I see that you say you like Al Franken, so maybe you would want to check out some of these books if you haven't already. They have some real good dirt in them on the behind the scenes work that goes into alot of propaganda that is fed to everyday Americans from the PR industry. The stuff they talk about ranges from PR companies covering the governments ass, to stuff about what the PR industry does to cover Corporations who are usually trying to pull shit.

Toxic sludge is good for you!
Well that is your opinion. I find that I am quite a libra. I don't go around claiming to be spiritual or anything, I just read some stuff on the libras attributes, and find that I come pretty close to what it says. I always try to look for balance in things. Horoscopes I don't really believe that much in, but do you really know what is going on with the world and what beyond what you percieve as reality? Why are there stars, why are there planets, is there life out there or are we alone, etc. I know not everyone is going to believe the same things, but science is only one outlook on things. Science tells us that the stars are one thing based on perceptions of our reality, but why are there stars is another question that science doesn't seem to answer. Why is there a universe? How do we know that being born at different times of the year don't effect us? Also, you can be a certain sign, but depending on the time of your birth and the date, your astrology chart can have different influences. I've taken an astrology chart thing and I found that it was wierd how close it was to how I often act and think. Of course, I'm always trying to examine myself and how I think, and think over decisions I've made during the day to try and understand myself(of course do we really know ourselves?). You know what they say: it's under peaceful conditions that a warlike man sets upon himself. I've seen some people who have gone about astrology thinking it's all bullshit, and they get nothing out of it, and then I've seen people with an open mind give it a chance and get something out of it. Everyones different though, but I think that maddux guy is full of shit.
Annie Coulter was probably thinking about the few Canadians who joined the American army to fight in Vietnam, but we never sent troops in. Having been so wrong on that point reinforces how wrong she is on everything else.
She is wrong...like a three dollar bill or a possessed child. So is Rachel Marsden, our little Canadian version of Coulter. They will swallow themselves up in the end though. Right-wing lunatics like them always do. It's already starting...Coulter showing her complete lack of knowledge about Vietnam, and Marsden being revealed as a stalker.
Marsden is a nut. I like how she squirmed when confronted about her hypocrasy and stalking. How do these people ever get in a position to reach the masses with there hateful views? If you look at O'Reilly, Coulter, or Marsden faces you can see how unhappy they really are. I saw a documentary with John Cleese about the human face, and it made alot of sense. You were your feelings. Sometimes you can judge a book by it's cover. If your a misserable shit your whole life like these three nuts are, you'll look it.
